    Lewis 65, Mohammed 36

There are certainly signs of more aggression from West Indies who are getting to the pitch of the ball and finding runs easier to come by now. They're also quick between the wicket, three sets of two runs from the over.

There's a fella with an umbrella in the crowd ... to shade him from the sunshine. Eh? We're nearly in October, right?

There's no focus on West Indies. They can go out and try and win a game of cricket, while England are distracted. The balance of the team has been upset. It's not what you want, but it is what it is, and West Indies need to take advantage of it.

  3. WI 115-3published at 22 overs

Oh, that is nice from Evin Lewis. Not a bad ball from Moeen but the West Indies opener leans back and plays it late, with soft hands, to cut it to the third man boundary for four.

    Six from the over.

I think England are in a strong position, but West Indies are clawing their way back nicely.

  5. WI 109-3published at 21 overs

    Lewis 60, Mohammed 29

A much better over for West Indies. Singles from the decent balls and punishing the bad ones. Back-to-back boundaries. Adil Rashid bowls full and wide of the leg stump and Lewis just guides it down to fine leg. The next is outside off and Lewis with a back-foot drive, timing it like a Swiss watchmaker, sending the ball crashing to the boundary.

Evin Lewis' fifty came up from 52 balls, with seven fours.

    WI 96-3

Evin Lewis rocks back and drives through cover off the back foot to bring up his fifty. A smart, patient innings. Well played.

Mohammed also showing some intent as he hoicks Moeen over extra cover for four.

Evin Lewis is playing a slightly different role to his naturally attacking game. The Oval is a beautiful place to bat.

  9. WI 88-3published at 19 overs

A half-hearted appeal for lbw by Rashid as Mohammed sweeps and misses. The ball may have even missed another set of stumps.

I said this West Indies pair have done well, but England's spin duo are stemming the flow of runs. Nevertheless, Evin Lewis is just one away from his fifty.

When you're in good form, and you have rhythm, the ball kisses the surface. Chris Woakes has found that elusive zip that he had before he got injured. Today, whether it be The Oval or the white ball, he's got good rhythm, good carry, good pace, which going forward to Australia is really exciting.

  11. WI 86-3published at 18 overs

    Lewis 48, Mohammed 19

Just the one over from Joe Root as Moeen Ali has a change of ends. More of the same as Moeen tosses them up, bowling to his off side-field and West Indies struggle to find the gaps. Just the Lewis single from the over.

Should this man have been in the Ashes squad? Adil Rashid, who took three wickets in the win at Bristol and the important run out for Chris Gayle, is brought on.

A wide down leg side first ball brings up the 50 partnership for Lewis and Mohammed. They have done well to steady the ship after those three early wickets.

    Three from the over.

Joe Root isn't cutting a very happy figure. I don't think he likes bowling any more. He doesn't have to in Tests - he's the skipper!

  15. WI 82-3published at 16 overs

A surprising change in the bowling as Joe Root replaces Liam Plunkett. Just as surprising is that there are no "Roooooooooot" cheers from the crowd.

England's Test skipper sends in a lofty, floaty delivery and Mohammed drives through the covers for four. Another poor delivery from Root, this time to Evin Lewis, who sends the ball crashing through the covers again. Easy pickings.

Evin Lewis scored 51 in the West Indies' T20 win over England earlier this month, but has yet to fire in this ODI series with scores of 11 and 13. The 25-year-old is playing a sensible innings here for his side. Four singles from the Moeen over.

  19. WI 68-3published at 14 overs

Liam Plunkett continues for his third over. The Yorkshireman bowls a tight line for the first few, back of a length, just outside the off stump. He then offers some width and Mohammed can't quite connect as well as he may have liked, guiding it to the man in the deep for a single. But Evin Lewis won't make the same mistake, the left-hander pulling it four to end the over.

Chris Woakes took three wickets in the first four overs of an ODI for the second time this year. He first did so against India in Cuttack in January.
