  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Kayes c Wood b Plunkett 19 (95-2)

What a catch that is! Imrul Kayes goes over the top, he doesn't middle it but still gets plenty on it.

It could easily be four, instead it's a wicket as Mark Wood dives to his left, full length, and takes a superb tumbling catch.

Charlie Hayes in Dorset: The England team needs to employ another quality spin bowler. Moeen is more of a part timer. Someone like Mason Crane of Hampshire who has been consistent across all formats this season would be ideal.

  3. Ban 95-1 (Tamim 45, Kayes 19)published at 19 overs

Moeen rattles through another over, a few singles from it. Another strangled lbw appeal.

    No dice.

I don't think Stokes has got his line right to Kayes.

He's very much leg side and Kayes got stuck in there. He's not been able to find that line probing the off stump.

He needs to get those margins a little bit tighter.

  6. Watch: Tamim Iqbal hits back-to-back boundaries off Plunkettpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Bangladesh are starting to get a shift on after a more considered start. A straight drive followed by a thick edge from Tamim leaves Plunkett looking frustrated.

  7. Ban 93-1 (Tamim 44, Kayes 18)published at 18 overs

Tamim is closing in on his 50 and he's batted very nicely so far. His two straight drives have been the stuff of dreams.

Imrul Kayes is more edgy as he top edges a short ball over the keeper for four.

  8. Ban 88-1 (Tamim 43, Kayes 14)published at 17.3 overs

Ben Stokes continues to trundle in, into his fourth over now. Rather thinning on top, it comes to us all. It's real sunburnt head weather if you're not careful today though. Get a hat on.

    I say trundles in - he's hitting 88, 89 mph...

I think these two will try and get a feel for spin and see if it's turning.

But a pretty solid over from Moeen there.

  10. Ban 86-1 (Tamim 42, Kayes 13)published at 17 overs

Tidy first over of spin but Bangladesh are looking comfortable at the moment. Finding singles where they can.

  11. Ban 84-1 (Tamim 41, Kayes 13)published at 16.3 overs

Moeen Ali is into the attack, England's only spinner today.

He twirls away, slip in place. Half-hearted lbw appeal first up as Tamim pads up to one.

Overthrow from Ben Stokes, England not at their best in the field so far today.

  12. Ban 82-1 (Tamim 39, Kayes 13)published at 11:43 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

If Chris Woakes is out for any length of time then David Willey and Adil Rashid could be options of course - maybe a recall for Steve Finn? Toby Roland-Jones?

  13. 'You can't mess around'published at 11:41 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Jonathan Agnew

England will have to reassess now. With side strains you can't mess around.

    That's not good news.

Nick Davies, Staffs: I went to Edgbaston on Saturday to watch Bangladesh and Pakistan. It was a very entertaining match and Tamin got a superb century. He's a very dangerous player if he gets going. Beware England.

  15. Woakes injury updatepublished at 16 overs

    Ban 82-1 (Tamim 39, Kayes 13)

    Chris WoakesImage source, Reuters

Chris Woakes has a side strain, I can confirm. That doesn't sound like something he can 'run off' to me.

Bad news for England. That's drinks.

  16. Ban 81-1 (Tamim 38, Kayes 13)published at 15.3 overs

The ability for Ben Stokes to bowl is growing with importance with any sort of injury to Chris Woakes. He's working away manfully enough out there. But Bangladesh are finding runs easily now, the run rate up to 5.22 an over now...

  17. Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

Chris Woakes really bats deep so losing him today, and with his overs as well, I think England could be a little bit nervous in that dressing room.

Not just today but for the rest of the tournament.

  18. Eye of the tigerpublished at 15 overs

    Ban 78-1 (Tamim 38, Kayes 10)

There are thousands of Bangladesh supporters in the stands, as one gentleman stands on his feet, holding a 4ft-long stuffed white tiger high above his head in celebration.

Which is not a sentence you get to say enough is it?

  19. Ban 78-1 (Tamim 38, Kayes 10)published at 14.4 overs

Liam Plunkett goes full and it's worked away nicely by number three Imrul Kayes, who has started confidently.

Oh yes, another beauty of a straight drive from Tamim! Picture-perfect.

Four more! A ragged one this time, a miscued drive but it flies to the fence.
