  1. Eng 221-2 (Root 88, Morgan 33)published at 38 overs

England need 306 runs to win

It's captain to captain as Mashrafe brings himself back on.

A ball angling down leg, and with a majority off-side field, he kindly ties a bow on top and gifts Morgan an easy four.

Hands on hips and big sighs from the Bangladeshi fielders.

Wonder what the score predictor says now?

  2. Watch: Eoin Morgan hits a boundarypublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Some live stuff from the England captain, smacking Mosaddek Hossain to the boundary.

  3. Eng (Root 86, Morgan 28)published at 37 overs

England need 306 runs to win

We have seen the TV replays a number of times and I'm still not sure whether that Tamim catch carried or not. We need to let it go, another over has passed ...

Seven from Shakib's over as England continue to size down the total.

    92 from 78 needed.

  4. 'No point arguing'published at 17:17 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Jonathan Agnew
    BBC Test Match Special

You never know with the replays, you can never be 100% sure, but it did look like the ball had been grounded.

Tamim is a spirited cricketer, his dander does get up. He's a player you'd want on your side. There's no point arguing with the umpire as the third umpire has said that it's not out.

  5. Eng 207-2 (Root 84, Morgan 23)published at 36 overs

England need 306 runs to win

Eventful over. An A for effort but it did look like it had hit the ground.

He may have taken it a bit too far with the umpires though. He was not happy.

Anyway, aside from all that, just three from the over.

  6. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Morgan drilled it. From my angle it looked like it was always dying on the fielder and wouldn't quite get to the fielder.

Tamim Iqbal is not happy, he clearly thinks he caught it.

I think that's a clean catch. No, now I see it again I think it's hit the ground...

  7. Not outpublished at 35.3

Morgan had chipped the ball, it was taken from a diving-forward Tamim at long-on.

He felt he had caught it but TV replays weren't conclusive and looked as if he may have grounded it.

Tamim is not happy at all and he's letting the umpires know that.

    Morgan stays.

  8. Umpire reviewpublished at 35.3 overs

Wow! Catch! Morgan has gone. Or has he? Did it carry? The umpire has referred it up.

  9. Root needs levitationpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Joe Root is really struggling. It his ankle do we think? He ricked it playing a pull shot.

He needs ice on it and, and some levitation. No, elevation!

  10. 200 runs

    Eng 204-2 (Root 83, Morgan 22)published at 35 overs

England need 306 runs to win

The 200 is up for England, but Root looks in trouble again with his ankle, hobbling through for a second run.

    Is it worth risking him?

Morgan drives down the ground for another single, again Root doesn't look comfortable at all as he limps through.

    102 needed from 90.

  11. Eng 199-2 (Root 80, Morgan 20)published at 34 overs

England need 306 runs to win

The sun is shining in South London. Morgan pulls the first ball after the break, he pulls it high, a risky shot which bounces just inside the rope for four.

They continue to get the ones and twos.

Bangladesh look a little glum and resigned at the moment, they need a wicket.

  12. Pint-Sized Gold: Warne's 'ball of the century'published at 16:57 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Test Match Special: Pint-Sized Shane Warne 'ball of the century'

While the players take a drink, catch up with one of our TMS Gold packages from earlier this week.

We travelled back to Shane Warne's 'ball of the century', when he removed England's Mike Gatting with his first delivery in an Ashes Test at Old Trafford in 1993.

  13. Eng 189-2 (Root 77 , Morgan 13)published at 33 overs

England need 306 runs to win

A quiet patch in the game...

Well it was until Morgan swivels on his mark and pulls one past the diving Sabbir at mid-on for four.

Two more singles in that over. 116 needed from 102.

England look comfortable. Time for a drinks break.

  14. Which tournament?published at 16:55 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Your call

We asked you to vote, and 70% of you prefer the Cricket World Cup to the ICC Champions Trophy.

The shorter tournament is not for everyone, it seems. Not for many people in fact.

Thanks to all who voted - the vote is now closed.

  15. Eng 184-2 (Root 76, Morgan 9)published at 32 overs

England need 306 runs to win

Morgan lofts it over to long off, Root wants a second but his captain wisely sends him back.

Scoreboard ticks along, strike is rotated - how many times have we said that in the past with these two?

  16. Watch: Hales caught by Sunzamulpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Oh, Alex Hales! Five runs from his century he tries to go big off Sabbir Rahman but manages to find sub fielder Sunzamul Islam.

  17. This team bats deep...published at 16:49 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    #bbccricket or 81111

Cricket subs: I agree an injured player should be subbed if needed, but what about following American football - have a batting team then change to a bowling/fielding team once you've batted!!

    Simon Hall in Widnes

  18. Eng 179-2 (Root 73, Morgan 7)published at 31 overs

England need 306 runs to win

Top bowling from Rubel. A tight tight over, just the two coming from it. High fives and back slaps from his teammates.

You'd back England, and these two in particular, to see this out.

But a couple of quick wickets and the pendulum can swing.

  19. Eng 178-2 (Root 72, Morgan 6)published at 30 overs

England need 306 runs to win

Shot. Joe Root showing little sign of that ankle injury from earlier with a cover drive off the back foot for four.

The Bangladeshi fans have gone a little quiet, despite that Hales dismissal.

    129 needed from 120 balls.

  20. Eng 171-2 (Root 67, Morgan 5)published at 29 overs

England need 306 runs to win

So we now have both the ODI captain and the Test captain at the crease.

Today's skipper Eoin Morgan gets off the mark with a fine touch to guide the ball down to the third man boundary for four.

    Six from the over.
