  1. Eng 6-0 (Roy 1, Hales 5)published at 2 overs

Left-arm spin has caused both of these openers plenty of grief in their ODI careers so far. A canny decision maybe.

    England need 300 more.

  2. Eng 6-0 (Roy 1, Hales 5)published at 1.4 overs

Opening with spin, a tactic I always employed on the MegaDrive back in the day.

Shakib Al Hasan is on, turning some slow left arm. Alex Hales squeaks a shot away, two men out for the catch - four!

    A touch lucky there.

  3. Quiche 1-0 Hospitalitypublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Call off the search for some rogue brogues at The Oval. Our man Andrew Haskins has decided a picnic at the seat is better than an uncomfortable free lunch.

    Good call?

Kev Sandall‏: I can't believe people are questioning why Jason Roy is in the team? I am off to put some money on a Roy half century.

  5. Eng 2-0 (Roy 1, Hales 1)published at 1 over

Jason Roy is out of nick and he misses out on a loose ball down the leg side, that was there to be put away to the fence.

Inside edge next and it dribbles down to the keeper. Visibly edgy, the England opener. But he's off the mark with a tickle down the leg side.

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

Bangladesh don't have any rapid bowlers, especially with Taskin Ahmed out of the side. They should come onto the bat nicely.

  7. Eng 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Jason Roy takes the first ball as Mashrafe Mortaza, captain of Bangladesh, opens up the bowling.

Some right-arm medium to start us off then. Forward defence...

  9. Eng 0-0published at 14:34 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Here come the England openers then. All eyes on Jason Roy and Alex Hales - especially Roy, on his home turf.

He scored 162 in 118 balls for England last year against Sri Lanka but he has looked out of form of late.

    Form/class/permanent/temporary and all that.

  10. The turning point?published at 14:33 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Two wickets in two balls for Plunkett, both the settled batsmen gone. Arguably England's best two balls of the day.

  11. 100 for Tamimpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

If Bangladesh win today, it will be because of their opener. He batted absolutely superbly.

  12. 50 for Mushfiqurpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

He batted very well as Bangladesh continued to build on a strong partnership.

    Ben Stokes gets heated!

Jake Ball's dreadful day continues, this time he tumbles over a boundary board trying to chase one down.

  15. Tamim shows some aggressionpublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

But this is the best way of increasing your run-rate, just pace down the wicket, get under the ball and send it through to the crowd for a six.

  16. 50 for Tamimpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Tamim Iqbal chops a wide Plunkett ball through to the boundary.

The opener reaches his 50, albeit scoring fairly slowly.

Bangladesh going at around five runs per over.

  17. What a catchpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Could we already have a catch of the tournament contender?

Bangladesh lost their second wicket to a diving Mark Wood at mid-on.

  18. Back-to-back boundariespublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Glorious drive with a straight bat followed by another four down to the third man boundary. Tamim Iqbal shows he is in some form with Bangladesh in a healthy position in the 15th over.

  19. Stokes with the breakthroughpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Ben Stokes takes England's first wicket of the day, as Sarkar is caught by substitute fielder Jonny Bairstow.
