England are patting each other on the back and go into the dressing room in a positive frame of mind. They think they can knock these off now.

You feel on this pitch and in these conditions, 305 isn't the daunting target it would have been 10 years ago.

England need 306 runs to win

Bangladesh centurion Tamim Iqbal: "The pitch was two-paced to start but it got better for batting.

"I have been contributing to the team for two-and-a-half years and if I got a start I wanted to make it count. We are 10-15 runs short of ideal but anything over 300 is always difficult to chase."

  7. Ban 305-6 (Mahmadullah 6 Mossadek 2)published at 50 overs

England need 306 runs to win

Nice from Plunkett, conceding just three runs in the 50th over is impressive.

But there we have it. The first innings of the 2017 Champions Trophy has come to an end.

Bangladesh will no doubt be the happier team, albeit they will be ruing the loss of both Tamim and Mushfiqur in consecutive balls.

But that pair batted with class and composure and have put their team in a very good position.

  8. Watch: Shakib Al Hasan caught by Stokes off Ballpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

Ball needed that wicket! Finding Stokes at long on, Shakib did not have the legs to get anywhere near the distance required for a six.

  9. 'They ran out of steam'published at 14:03 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

    Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Bangladesh were cruising but they've fallen short of a score they should have reached. They ran out of steam when Tamim went. They lost some power.

  10. Ban 302-6 (Mahmudullah 5, Mosaddek 1)published at 49.3 overs

England will be happy that they've turned this around. Bangladesh looked set for a big score just a few overs ago.

You'd expect the fielder to take that catch 50 times out of 50. It was straight down his throat.

    Sabbir c Roy b Plunkett 24 (300-6)

It's another wicket for England and another wicket for Liam Punkett. Sabbir can't get a shot cleanly away and it's an easy catch for Jason Roy down at long on.

    Ban 300-5 (Sabbir 24, Mahmadullah 5)

The 300 is up! Both sets of supporters are on their feet.

Meanwhile, Jake has not had a Ball today. He shows his frustration at Stokes after a throw-in bounces awkwardly for the bowler at the stumps.

  14. Ban 296-5 (Sabbir 23, Mahmudullah 2)published at 48.3 overs

England are going to finish this innings just behind schedule, the cut-off was supposed to be 14:00 BST.

Jake Ball in for the penultimate over, Sabbir pops him into the off side for a couple. This is Bangladesh's highest score against England now.

Great shot again, over the top with a sort of flicked, scooped reverse sweep. And again! Spanked through the cover area, but well fielded.

  15. Ban 286-5 (Sabbir 16, Mahmadullah 1)published at 48 overs

    Three more singles.

Wood finishes wicket-less as goes for nine in that over.

His 10 overs have gone for 58.

  17. Ban 284-5 (Sabbir 12, Mahmudullah 1)published at 47.3 overs

It's looking much more like 300 tops for Bangladesh now. Those wickets have stemmed the tide.

Mark Wood has an almost impossible caught and bowled chance as new man Mahmudullah nearly takes his head off. Sabbir then steps away to give himself some room and smash a four over extra cover. Shot.

  18. Ban 278-5 (Sabbir 6, Mahmudullah 0)published at 13:52 British Summer Time 1 June 2017

So England have clawed this one back slightly in the last 10 overs of the innings.

Three more to go, can Bangladesh get to the 300 mark?

England's balance has gone with Woakes out and Stokes unable to guarantee 10 overs. Rashid needed for wickets and tail long with Plunkett at 9. Keeper needs to open with Hales, Ali at 6 with Toby Roland-Jones in at 7 ... for me, Bairstow ahead of Buttler....

The wickets seem to be coming quickly now. It's all down to Liam Plunkett, who dismissed Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim in consecutive balls to turn the tide.
