  1. SL 192-9published at 39 overs

    Rabada 7-0-37-1

That's a cracker of a delivery from Rabada, short and pacey and Pradeep sways out of harm's way. His feet were nowhere near that. He wisely sticks to defending for the rest of the over.

Lasith Malinga looks forlornly at his stumps as he trudges off, as though he was thinking he could have got these runs.

    Malinga b Rabada 1 (SL 192-9)

Bowled 'im! The end is nigh. Malinga goes back to a short delivery from Rabada, trying to cut, and ends up bottom edging into his stumps. The first bowled of the tournament, even if, technically, he chopped on.

Imran Tahir threw his arms up in the air as though to say 'anything you can do AB, I can do too'.

Lakmal run out Tahir 0 (SL 191-8)

Horribly, horribly out. It was shortish from Morris and Lakmal prodded it towards mid-on. Tahir swooped in, like a seagull scenting your chips, and threw it at the bowler's end. A direct hit and Lakmal was well short of his ground. What a corker of a throw.

    SL 191-7

Oh, has Imran Tahir just pulled off a cracking run out? That looks so very out, but we're going upstairs...

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37.2 overs

    Prasanna lbw b Morris 13 (SL 191-7)

Out. It hit him above the knee roll but hawkeye reckons it would have gone on to hit middle and leg. Prasanna has to trudge off rather reluctantly.

  8. Postpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

It's struck him quite high on the pad, admittedly. Doesn't seem to be anything on hot spot...

  9. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 37.1 overs

    SL 191-6

Ooh, Prasanna has been given out lbw to Chris Morris, but he's not convinced! He's made the T-sign straight away.

Here are some of the shots Perera's got in his locker - Sri Lanka will need some more like this if they're going to chase 300. This is, of course, Perera's highest ODI score to date.

  11. SL 191-6published at 37 overs

    Target 300

Now then, this could be set for an interesting finish. Four from Perera, swatting at a Rabada short ball and getting enough bat on it to help it down to the fine leg boundary. Rabada swats at his leg with his hat in annoyance as he ends his over.

Mathew George: Pretty sure Imran Tahir's parents had a lot of trouble running after him when he was a kid.

  13. 6 runs

    SL 187-6published at 36 overs

    Perera 34, Prasanna

Oop! There Prasanna goes. He doesn't' quite get hold of the delivery from Morris but it sat up nicely. All Prasanna had to do was swing his arms and the ball went sailing into the crowd. A top-edged pull to round off the over isn't quite as well-timed, but Prasanna will get away with it.

  15. SL 176-6published at 35 overs

    Target 300

Kagiso Rabada is on, presumably to try and knock the tail over quickly. He's a touch off line, leaning to the leg side, and the batsman knock him away for consecutive singles. They need 124 from the final 15 overs to win their Group B opener.

    Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

Stats-wise, most of South Africa's players are in the top 10 in the world. That's impressive.

  17. SL 171-6published at 34 overs

A thwack from Perera goes whizzing to the boundary. Substitute fielder Maharaj goes diving to his left, gets a hand to it, and ends up parrying it into the boundary rope. He did everything right there, right up until he tried to stop the ball.

That's Wayne Parnell's work done for the day. He finishes with figures of 10-0-54-0. He's finished well after taking a bit of tap first up.

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

South Africa have got their tail up. Wayne Parnell has not bowled 87-88mph for a while - he started out at 83mph today.

  20. SL 166-6published at 33 overs

    Target 300

Oof! Prasanna's not a fan of facing Wayne Parnell as he pushes forward to a ball that was moving away from him all the time. He's tempting him all the time, trying to get him to drive, but Prasanna can't get an edge on it. Meanwhile, a group of four blokes in crocodile onesies try and start a Mexican wave. As you do.
