Amla run out 103 (SA 232-5)

You know what... Sri Lanka are in this. South Africa are looking a little flaky. Hashim Amla is run out by Mendis - well short of his ground after going for a second run. Game on.

Miller will be frustrated there. That wicket brings things back for Sri Lanka. To keep South Africa to this total at this point means that we could be in for an interesting match.

    Miller c Prasanna b Lakmal 18 (SA 226-4)

The crowd had barely settled down after applauding Hashim Amla's hundred and then David Miller picks out third man. South Africa don't have enough yet. They need at least 60 more, I'd wager.

He's worked the angles, let the ball come to him. It hasn't been explosive, but he can stay composed and play the conditions. He's made it look easy.

  5. 100 runs

100 for Hashim Amla (off 112 balls)published at 41.3 overs

    SA 226-3

Who's the man? Hash is the man! A single brings up three figures. Now it's time to swing that willow?

  6. SA 225-3published at 41.1 overs

Big, big appeal. Lakmal gets one to shape away from Hashim Amla. The wicketkeeper grabs the ball and there's an almighty appeal. Aleem Dar says not out. He's proven right by the replays.

South Africa could easily add 100 in the final 10 - it could be 350. Amla is so well set.

  8. SA 225-3published at 41 overs

Come on South Africa, we're waiting for some action. Two singles and a two. Nothing scintillating yet.

  9. It's Miller timepublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

No such thing as taking some time to play yourself in for David Miller.

  10. SA 221-3published at 40 overs

Lasith Malinga wrestling with South Africa as they try to take off the handbrake. A searing yorker is just about dug out by Hashim Amla. He's still got it.

When we talk about Toby Roland-Jones, I can't see England bringing in a guy for a tournament who has only one cap.

  12. SA 219-3published at 39 overs

Hashim Amla shakes his head when a powerful drive picks out the fielder. Five singles. South Africa still have the handbrake on.

Perhaps Amla has decided that his role is to get 120 or 130 and that will put South Africa right in the game.

Another excellent over from the impressive Pradeep - he's one to watch. Just two singles taken.

  15. Watch Sri Lanka take two quick wicketspublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 3 June 2017

AB de Villiers and Faf Du Plessis are best mates. They're also South Africa's most destructive middle-order batsmen. Another thing they have in common is they're both out! Watch and enjoy, Sri Lanka fans (and everyone else, of course).

That was quick use of the feet and the bowler didn't see him coming. He decided to loft it and it went very flat, very hard.

  17. 6 runs

    SA 212-3published at 37 overs

    Amla 91, Miller 13

David Miller whacks a six. A big one. Back over the stunned bowler's head. No messing about.

  18. SA 202-3published at 36 overs

We might have been a little naive to write off these Sri Lankan seamers. Nuwan Pradeep, who already has two wickets to his name, has genuine wheels. First he beats David Miller's outside edge, then he gets the left-hander ducking beneath a well-directed bumper.

South Africa will think that, with the bowling they have, 320 or 330 will be a good score.

  20. SA 198-3published at 35 overs

So, South Africa remain in a good position but the momentum has shifted slightly. David Miller joins Hashim Amla at the crease.
