  1. Ban 130-4published at 28 overs

    Shakib 49, Mahmudullah 45

New Zealand are getting worried - so much so they complain to the umpire when he signals four wides after Mitchell Santner fires one down leg. Such behaviour betrays their nerves and unease. Ten from the over - and it's all so simple.

Things are interesting now. Bangladesh have plenty of time. Once you get down to just 100 needed then you get excited. If they keep moving it around and get another 40 runs I will start to think, 'yeah'.

  3. Ban 120-4published at 27 overs

    Target 266

New Zealand realise they need to reassert themselves and bring back the pace of Adam Milne. The field is spread now, though, and Mahmudullah leaps to guide a lifting delivery beyond backward point for a useful two. Next up he drives four through the covers with the sort of timing we'd coo over if it came from Ian Bell's bat.

  4. Ban 111-4published at 26 overs

    Shakib 46, Mahmudullah 34

It seems a long time ago that Tim Southee was bowling like this, and threatening to take a wicket every ball. More solid spin from Mitchell Santner and Mahmudullah uses his feet to drive a single back down the ground.

It is not just that Corey Anderson is digging it in short, the line is wrong. If it was straighter it might cause problems. But Shakib did well to steer the ball into the gap.

  6. Ban 109-4published at 25 overs

    Target 266

Shot! Corey Anderson bowls a horrible half-tracker and Shakib rides the bounce before pulling it wide of mid-wicket for four. New Zealand are treading water at the moment.

  7. Ban 104-4published at 24 overs

    Shakib 40, Mahmudullah 33

Mahmudullah scored 46 off 36 when Bangladesh beat New Zealand in Ireland before this tournament began. He's the man for the job as another run is chalked off during a tidy Mitchell Santner over.

  8. Roy a huge part of our team - Morganpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Eoin Morgan on struggling opener Jason Roy: "I definitely won't be telling Jason Roy to knuckle down. We believe runs for him are just around the corner. I've been saying it for quite a while, we believe in him. He's a huge part of our team."

  9. England v Australia is always special - Morganpublished at 17:38 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

England captain Eoin Morgan has been speaking to Jonathan Agnew before England's final group match against Australia tomorrow.

"England against Australia is always special," Morgan said. "Playing against Australia always has a bit of extra baggage.

"Considering the fortunes Australia have had with the weather, it adds an extra little bit.

"Australia have their own agenda within the group - they need to win in order to give themselves the best chance - but we're firmly focused on what we need to do.

"Australia are a side hat, if they get on top, they do hammer things home. It's up to us to produce some of our best cricket."

  10. Ban 103-4published at 23 overs

    Target 266

Do we have anybody following the game with us from Bangladesh? I'd love to know how gripped the country is by this run-chase. Judging by the celebrations after the Tigers beat England in a Test match, it means a lot. Corey Anderson has gone round the wicket to the right-handers, hoping to nip the ball away. Nothing doing as Mahmudullah works the second ball of the over to the boundary. Nine from the over. Cruising.

New Zealand are in prime spot here but I wonder if it is worth Kane Williamson turning back to his main strike bowlers to finish the game off?

  12. Ban 94-4published at 17:34 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

    Shakib 36, Mahmudullah 27

The current equation works out at a run a ball, meaning Bangladesh can get them in singles. Whether they adopt that sensible approach, we'll see but four more are chalked from the score from Mitchell Santner's non-threatening over.

  13. Murali's special honourpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

Yesterday was a special day for Sri Lanka all round. Shortly before their cricketers beat India, their legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.

The 45-year-old, who took 800 Test wickets and 534 ODI wickets, is the first Sri Lankan to be given the honour.

He said: “It is a moment of great pride and honour to be receiving this award, especially from the ICC which is the ultimate any cricketer can aspire to achieve. The induction during this prestigious Champions Trophy makes it even more remarkable."

ICC chief executive David Richardson added: “Murali’s record speaks for itself. His control of line, pace and length coupled with his ability to spin the ball prodigiously are legendary. Once he developed the 'doosra' he became almost unplayable."

  14. Ban 88-4published at 17:31 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

    Target 266

Afternoon all. Corey Anderson has slightly over-done the zinc this afternoon. He's plastered it across his bonce on this balmy evening in Cardiff. Thick set and left-arm over, he gets some decent carry from a cross-seam delivery which surprises Shakib. The next couple bring two runs apiece either side of the wicket. A promising little stand is developing.

  15. Ban 85-4published at 20 overs

    Target 266

Williamson turns to spin, bringing on Mitchell Santner for Adam Milne. Shakib spends most of the over shuffling to leg to buy space for a swipe but the bowler is wise to him and follows to keep him in check.

183 runs from 30 overs is gettable. These two batsmen are key.

Here is Marc Higginson to see you through the next phase of the chase.

Southee, Milne and Boult have caused some problems. Neesham has banged it in and Mahmudullah seems to have lots of time to thump it 70, 80 yards. Shots like that can change the whole feeling of the game.

That's just the second six of the game - and it's a big, beefy blow.

  18. Ban 82-4published at 19 overs

    Target 266

This game is alive. Mahmudullah underlines this fact with a huge clubbed pull for the first six of the innings off Neesham, followed by another (less well-struck) pull for four.

It is the first over Bangladesh have emphatically won in their reply. 13 off it.

Williamson has some pondering to do.

Adam Milne has bowled at a really good pace today and I imagine he's only a four-over spell man. This is his fourth over so that might be him for a while. It's never straightforward, you know.

  20. Ban 69-4published at 18 overs

Shakib is looking in decent nick now. He emphasizes this with a drive inside mid-off for four. This partnership is worth 31 now. Hope is slowly growing for Bangladesh.
