Taskin Ahmed speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm pretty happy today. I was trying to contribute for the team because I didn't play the last three matches.

"I was under a bit of pressure to do well but still I tried my best in helping or team. I stuck with the basics. The wicket was helping me."

The happier side without doubt will be Bangladesh. We have seen many successful run chases, but we have also seen some go awry.

We know what Bangladesh are about. We have seen these players before. Tamim has dominated and looked the man in form but they capable down to seven or eight.

It is clearly not coming on to the bat, though.

  3. NZ 265-8published at 50 overs

So there we have it, New Zealand set Bangladesh 266 to win after Tim Southee ends the innings with a four down to fine leg.

Trent Boult's going to have to bowl well.

  4. The worst dismissal of the lot?published at 15:14 British Summer Time 9 June 2017

This is the worse shot of the innings for my money. Why not rock back and work it into the off side?

  5. NZ 257-8published at 49 overs

    Santner 11, Southee 5

It's almost as if England and New Zealand have swapped bodies since 2015. That's the only explanation.

Let's be honest, you're asking for trouble when you've got Luke Ronchi opening the batting. Harsh, I know - but this is very, very poor.

Mitchell Santner survives a direct hit while attempting a run. A four brings some light relief.

Milne was trying to conjure something, looking for the gap at mid-wicket but it is hard to hit the ball there. Yorker length and you heard it thud into the stumps. It has been calamitous final leg of this innings from New Zealand.

    Milne b Mustafizur 7 (NZ 252-8)

Mustafizur bowls Adam Milne with a full delivery which sneaks between the batsman's legs. The shambles continues apace.

  9. NZ 250-7published at 48 overs

    Rubel 9-0-50-1

When these two met in a warm-up game before the tournament, New Zealand batted first and posted 270 which Bangladesh knocked off easily. This shouldn't be a surprise, really. Mitchell Santner is having a torrid time trying to get Rubel away, the 48th over of the innings costing just three runs.

If you get early wickets you can defend anything but the Kiwis will be disappointed if they don't get 275.

  11. NZ 247-7published at 47 overs

    Santner 9, MIlne 4

The way this tournament is going, we're on course for a Bangladesh versus Pakistan semi-final. Things are really getting interesting. It's a constant upward curve for the Tigers - this coming after they ended England's World Cup hopes in 2015 and then beat Alastair Cook's side in a Test late last year. New Zealand limping towards the 50-over mark.

I bet you he was thinking he could have gone through the ball before, which was a length ball. It was another flat, length ball and Neesham was looking to knock it out the ground, committed and missed it.

Neesham st Mushfiqur b Mosaddek 23 (NZ 240-7)

This is dreadful from New Zealand. Absolutely rubbish!

Mosaddek, who is in the team for his batting and with a part-time ODI bowling average of 48, bowls a half-tracker, Jimmy Neesham misses it and is promptly stumped.

    This is England circa 2015.

Marc Sepetowski: RE 43rd over: It isn't just the batting of Grant Elliot than NZ miss. His bowling was very underrated. Kept it pretty tight.

  16. NZ 235-6published at 45 overs

A Bangladesh fans in the crowd holds up a handwritten sign stating that Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza must not retire. The bustling all-rounder will just be pleased to be out there are an injury-ravaged career and seven or eight significant operations. Four runs from the over. New Zealand will take anything they can get now.

There are no demons in the pitch. It is a hard pitch to unfurl a lot of unorthodox strokeplay. It is not a belter, but if you are chasing around 270 these days you expect to get them.

  18. NZ 231-6published at 44 overs

Mitchell Santner is the next man in. New Zealand line them up and Bangladesh, it seems, will knock them down.

    Anderson lbw b Mosaddek 0 (NZ 229-6)

New Zealand might be home this time tomorrow. Are there any flights back to Auckland from Heathrow this evening?

They're folding like deckchairs now - Corey Anderson stopping by for a two-ball duck. Bangladesh absolutely bossing this match.

  20. Reviewpublished at 43.3 overs

    NZ 229-5

There's another one! Mosaddek pins Anderson in front. Plumb as you like. The finger goes up, Anderson walks off and then decides at the 11th hour to review it.
