Lbw appeal against Yuvraj. I think it got an edge; I may be wrong.

  3. India 172-2published at 34.2 overs

    Target 192

Brilliant. Just, brilliant. Graeme Smith earlier said that Kohli is one of the best players of spin and he's not wrong. He plays against the turn of the ball and flicks Tahir through mid-wicket for the four of the day.

There is still a game of cricket on, but as a contest it ended about three hours ago.

  5. India 166-2published at 34 overs

JP Duminy with his all-over-the-shop bedhead hair comes in. He floats them in and India happily rotate the strike. I've seen a few signs around the ground and various tweets about an India v England final. Could yet be a Pakistan v India final. Can you imagine? 26 runs from 96 balls needed.

  7. India 162-2published at 32 overs

Should South Africa have brought Tahir on sooner in the innings? Would it have made any difference?

The Pakistan-born South African darts one in a bit quicker and it just misses the edge of Yuvraj's willow.

A couple of singles are exchanged before Yuvraj makes no mistake in picking one up, driven down the ground for a one-bounce four.

Eventful over, ending with a leg-before shout which looked to pitch outside leg. Worth a review though? I mean, what do they have to lose?

There has been some disdainful strokeplay from India.

  9. India 156-2published at 32 overs

    Target 192

Yuvraj eager to get on strike, a bit too eager as he makes his way down the wicket and is rightly sent back by his captain. Well communicated. Good running between the pair as Kohli dabs it to mid-wicket and they run for a two. South Africa in a similar position would probably have run one and a half.

  10. India 154-2published at 32 overs

    Target 192

At least the India fans will get to see Yuvraj Singh have a bat. The remainder of Tahir's over is seen off with ease. Three from it.

So Dhawan scores big again. He's been an absolute gem at the top of the order.

A crumb of comfort for South Africa. Tahir's celebration was just a little jog this time - he's usually off and running. Even with his enthusiasm, he knows the game is up.

    Dhawan c Du Plessis b Tahir 78 (India 151-2)

What a shame he couldn't get to triple figures or see this one through. Dhawan advances to the leggy, Tahir throws down the googly and it loops up to Du Plessis at long-off, who takes a decent grab.

This is a victory march for India. It just depends whether they want a slightly quicker qualification or a slightly longer net.

    Target 192

Any suggestions on what India can watch at the pictures tonight?

150 up. They have absolutely dominated this game. Nobody thought it would be this one sided.

During this innings, I sometimes think back to them South African run-outs from earlier today, just for the giggle. Not seen it? There you go. Enjoy ...

India have decided that they need an afternoon down the cinema. The period when South Africa could get back in the game has gone. This is nice time in the middle for both Dhawan and Kohli.

  16. India 148-1published at 29 overs

    Dhawan 75, Kohli 55

Nothing going right for South Africa today. Kohli's pull doesn't find the middle and it falls in no-man's land.

Next up, TV replays show there was a big no-ball from Rabada but not called by the umpire. It's okay, India can do without the free-hit, let's not add salt to South Africa's wound.

Six from it. 44 needed from 21 overs. I reckon they will do it in five.

This is Kohli's 68th score of 50 or more in 174 ODI innings. Since the start of 2016, he is averaging 88 in ODIs at a strike rate of just under a run a ball.

    India 142-1

And there it is. A gentle push off the back foot and the captain brings up his half-century. With his captain's milestone out of the way, Dhawan steps up on the gas, twice finding the big gap on the long-on boundary.

No messing about, get this out the way and start preparations for the semi-final against Bangladesh at Edgbaston. Cor, can you imagine the atmosphere for that one?

Here's some of the best of Kohli today ...

  19. India 131-1published at 27 overs

    Target 192

Short from Rabada, Dhawan pulls and a leading edge takes it down to the fine leg boundary for four. They're making such easy work of this target. There's flag waving, bhangra dancing and vuvuzeling going on in the crowd. Kohli takes a single from the final ball to keep the strike, poised on 49.
