England have called up Liam Livingstone for their T20 matches against South Africa which follows the Champions Trophy.

Moeen Ali, Jake Ball, Adil Rashid, Joe Root and Ben Stokes are rested and will play for their respective counties in the inaugural day-night round of the Specsavers County Championship starting on Monday June 26. Sussex fast bowler Tymal Mills has been ruled out through a back injury.

Squad: Bairstow, Billings, Buttler, Crane, T Curran, Dawson, Hales, Jordan, Livingstone, Malan, Morgan, C Overton, Plunkett, Roy, Willey, Wood.

  2. SL 93-3published at 18 overs

Through all of this, Niroshan Dickwella remains, watching from the other end as his mates struggle against the Pakistan pacers. He's playing Fahim with more confidence than Mathews, who has a slip for company. Only 10 runs from the past three overs. Meanwhile...

Akram Hussain: Fear it will be classic Pakistan today. Raise the hopes with some magic against South Africa but implode in equally magical ways today.

  4. SL 88-3published at 17 overs

The sun is out and the game is on. Hasan Ali is charging in, hitting the pitch hard and getting the ball to move off the seam. He really does remind me of Waqar Younis, but with better hair. Mathews is beaten outside the off stump. Only one from it. Here are the two wickets that got Sri Lanka in this mess...

He looks a bruiser, Mathews, but he's a batsman of wonderful touch. If he gets in, he's dangerous but he's got a lot of batting to do now.

  6. SL 85-3published at 16 overs

    Fahim 3-0-15-1

Looking again, Chandimal was in no position to play that stroke. He almost fell over as he ruefully looked back at his disturbed timbers. Angelo Mathews is the new man. There's not much room in his sweater. He almost drags on too. What's going on out there? One more wicket and Pakistan will feel that they are in the hen house.

Wide delivery, Chandimal going for an expansive drive and how the impetus now shifts in this Sri Lanka innings.

There's so many Pakistan fans waving and celebrating, this game has a completely different tone to it now.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.1 overs

    Chandimal b Faheem 0 (SL 83-3)

And another! Faheem Ashraf has a wicket on debut and Dinesh Chandimal is gone for a two-ball duck. It's a rank shot, trying to drive a very wide delivery and only succeeding in dragging it back on to the stumps. From nowhere, Pakistan are back in it and Sri Lanka are all over the show.

Darren Lissaman: Went to watch Leicestershire play in a monsoon in 1980. Just me and a pal in the ground. The groundsman gave us a lift home, dripping wet.

  10. SL 83-2published at 15 overs

    Hasan 2-1-9-1

The players took drinks at the fall of the wicket. Looking again, the seam was beautifully upright all the way down and the ball seemed to hurry on to Mendis after it pitched. It took the very top of the off stump, sending the zing bails flying. Dinesh Chandimal is the new man.

Well that was a spectacular sight, the bail lights come flashing on. Mendis had batted with great efficiency and is a key player for Sri Lanka. Hasan is having a great tournament.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.5 overs

    Mendis b Hasan 27 (SL 82-2)

Bowled him! That is an absolute rozzer from Hasan Ali. Kusal Mendis is done all ends up by one that pitches on or just outside off stump, nips back and takes the top of middle. It's quick, too. That's a big wicket for Pakistan. Sri Lanka were just taking it by the scuff.

Away from Cardiff, we also have ball-by-ball radio coverage from five County Championship matches today.

It's day four and Middlesex are in trouble against Lancashire at Southport, Somerset trail Yorkshire by 155 runs with 6 wickets remaining in Taunton and Sussex look favourites to beat Leicestershire at Grace Road.

  14. SL 81-1published at 14 overs

I have two concerns for Pakistan. The first is that Sri Lanka are accumulating with ease. The second is that, with this over rate, the whole team will be banned for any potential semi-final. There's some blue sky over Cardiff, definitely getting brighter. This pair have added 55 in 53 deliveries.

Kusal Mendis is a lovely player, orthodox and easy on the eye. They've got off to a great start.

  16. SL 74-1published at 13 overs

    Dickwella 36, Mendis 24

Hasan Ali certainly brings energy to the Pakistan team - he was everywhere in the win against South Africa last week. The right-armer is another that gets the ball through at a good lick, but he's met with a wonderful cover drive for four by Kusal Mendis. The Sri Lanka fans, though short on numbers, are making a decent noise.

A bit of swing and a bit of energy right now won't do any harm to Pakistan.

  18. SL 66-1published at 12 overs

Faheem Ashraf, the debutant, is into the attack, bowling what is listed as 'right-arm medium'. I reckon he's quicker than medium. Skiddy, too. In the stands, a chap is wearing a long, thick, multi-coloured scarf borrowed from Doctor Who. In fact, Faheem has ticked the speedo up to 86mph. It that's medium, what's fast?

A faster ball and doing something out of the ordinary wasn't required from Imad Wasim. Just bowl regularly, follow the script.

  20. SL 60-1published at 11 overs

    Dickwella 28, Mendis 18

With the first powerplay done, the field has scattered. One-day captaincy is never the most creative, is it? Why not keep an extra man in the ring to see if the batsman is willing to go big? Imad Wasim is rolling the ball out, almost slow swing rather than left-arm spin. Dickwella late cuts for four. Sri Lanka slowly getting on top.
