  1. SL 4-0published at 2 overs

In defence of those who haven't turned up in Cardiff today, it's not a time for cricket. Grey, chilly. Junaid Khan is the another left-arm over bowler with a new ball, slight hint of movement, Danushka Gunathilaka unsuccessful in lofting the ball back to the city centre.

Good hands from Dickwella, just guiding it square. The ball possibly swung a tiny bit away. Lovely shot.

  3. SL 4-0published at 1 over

This is getting silly now. Not only are Sri Lanka wearing a change strip of slightly less blue and slightly more yellow, but the umpires have changed colours too. From black shirts to yellow shirts. Why? And that can't be much good when Lasith Malinga sends the white ball out of their chest later on. Lovely cover drive from Dickwella for four.

Niroshan Dickwella is taking guard, Mohammad Amir is doing the sort of stretching that would kill a normal man. Two slips in place, umpire Bruce Oxenford is wearing his shield...

Kashif Akhtar: I wouldn't put it past Pakistan to concede 400 runs and be all out for 126. Highly likely scenario!

The anthems were started early, just so we could fit in Sri Lanka before the scheduled start. Pakistan have just lined up for a football-style team photo. I'm not I've ever seen a cricket team do that before.

Ralph Brooker: This has the ingredients to be one of the best or at least most dramatic games of the tournament so far. Can't wait.

Given the sparse nature of the Cardiff crowd, you can probably tell me about the times no one else turned up to the cricket...

    Vic Marks
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special

The winner of this game is almost certain to play England in the semi-finals. A couple of scenarios where they could end up playing Bangladesh instead ...

    • If Pakistan bowled Sri Lanka for 110 in 30 overs, Pakistan would need 111 from 14 balls.
    • If Sri Lanka post 425-5, they will need to dismiss Pakistan for 126 or less.

As it is now and ever shall be, the skipper that wins the toss wants to chase. Sarfraz Ahmed gets the benefit of the flick and wants to bowl on an overcast Cardiff morning. Both sides are playing four seamers, including a debut for Pakistan's Faheem Ashraf.
