  1. Pak 305-4published at 46 overs

    Hafeez 42, Imad 12

Bhuvneshwar decides he doesn't like being hit for six and mixes his lengths up nicely. Mohammad Hafeez slashes a slow, wide delivery and then gives his batting partner a right telling off for not turning an easy two into a sneaky three.

Oh, that's a shot and a half from Mohammad Hafeez! It's a perfectly decent delivery from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a good length, and it's been swatted into the crowd. In fact, the crowd parted to let that ball drop in the middle of them. Dismissive from the batsman.

John Poole: ‏Pakistan are going to blow this aren't they? You can never rule out a collapse from these guys.

Dave‏: Enjoying the sunshine & the cricket! Two teams at it hammer & tongs! Pakistan off to a flyer, India fighting back in the last 10!

Here are the two wickets that Pakistan have been rebuilding from. Firstly, Shoaib Malik...

    And then Babar Azam.

  6. 6 runs

    Pak 294-4published at 45 overs

Ooh, that's an almighty effort from Hardik Pandya as Mohammad Hafeez tucks into Kedar Jadhav! That's six, another skip down the pitch and the ball just creeps over Pandya's outstretched hand. And again! This time it's Imad Wasim who goes straight down the ground and into the sightscreen! Kohli might have overbowled his part-timer, here.

People here are watching the match at an empty restaurant. Fasting completes at sunset, after that people will be able to eat here. Until then they will only watch and chat.

  8. Pak 278-4published at 44 overs

    Imad 3, Hafeez 24

Oops. Jasprit Bumrah spears in a full toss and Mohammad Hafeez picks it up off his pads and away to the boundary. Pakistan have stuttered slightly but they've got enough wickets in the tank, although I wonder if they'd have been better sending the captain out at this stage in the innings. Imad gets up on his haunches to drive nicely for a couple.

All the momentum is now with India and with eight overs to go it looks like this score will not be enough. I don't think anyone has failed to chase down anything under 300 at The Oval.

  10. Pak 270-4published at 43 overs

    Jadhav 2-0-11-1

Imad Wasim is the next man in for Pakistan, and he's off the mark as he taps a super low delivery from Jadhav away for a single. The two batsmen head to the middle of the wicket for a brief tactics talk.

  11. Run-a-ball enough for Pakistan?published at 13:36 British Summer Time 18 June 2017

    Khalid Karamat
    BBC Urdu

Pakistan’s batting has been under a lot of scrutiny in the tournament, especially the lack of big hitters in the team. I spoke to Shoaib Malik about this who said that as long as Pakistan keep the strike-rate around 100, there is no need for big hitters.

    Babar c Yuvraj b Jadhav 46 (Pak 267-4)

Kedar Jadhav strikes again! He tosses the ball up, tempting Babar Azam, and he tries to go over cover. Instead it flies high in the air towards Yuvraj, who takes a simple catch at long-off.

    Bhuvneshwar 7-2-20-1

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back for the final overs of the innings. And he's walloped over cow corner by Mohammad Hafeez! That's really good work, darting down the wicket and pulling him with disdain. This is really good from Pakistan, that nice mixture of aggression and gentle strokeplay, and it's a nice, tidy over from the bowler too.

  16. Pak 257-3published at 41 overs

    Babar 33, Hafeez 9

Right, well. That's one way to get off the mark - Mohammad Hafeez comes dancing down to Ravi Jadeja and slaps the ball straight back past him for four! Even Jadeja looked a little surprised at that. And that's another boundary! Down the leg side from Jadeja and Hafeez gives it a little tickle to help it on its way.

  18. Pak 247-3published at 40 overs

Mohammad Hafeez is the new man at the crease, but he's watching from the non-strikers' as Babar pats out the rest of the over.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 39.4 overs

    Malik c Jadhav b Kumar 12 (Pak 247-3)

Shoaib Malik... what kind of a shot is that? Kumar, with his extra pace, bangs the ball into the middle of the pitch, Shoaib - to put it bluntly - tries to slog it over extra cover, and instead picks out Kedar Jadhav on the boundary.
