  1. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 103-1

A super session for Hampshire, led by Jimmy Adams and Michael Carberry, sees the target cut to 217.

Their lunch will taste very sweet. Yorkshire have plenty of thinking to do.

  2. 'Nottinghamshire a world-class side'published at 12:58 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Nottinghamshire beat Leicestershire by 10 wickets

Leicestershire head coach Pierre de Bruyn feels that despite losing inside three days at Grace Road, Nottinghamshire were a good test for his side.

“I feel that we came across a world-class side," he told BBC Radio Leicester. “It was a great benchmark for us as a county. If we want to talk about getting promotion then you need to be able to compete with those types of players.

“Stuart Broad and James Pattinson are world-class, Test bowlers. It was a great tester for our batting line-up.

“I have mixed feelings but we are very disappointed. I back them 100% to bounce back next week. I can’t ask for any more."

Fifty for Jimmy Adamspublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 95-1

Michael Carberry may be back in the hutch, but Jimmy Adams is doing a sterling job for Hampshire.

The opener moves to his half-century off 95 balls.

    He'll want plenty more though.

WICKET Carberry (c Patterson b Coad) 41published at 12:49 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 91-1

There's the wicket Yorkshire needed! Michael Carberry looked in fine touch, but he top-edges a pull from Ben Coad down to square leg, where Steven Patterson takes the catch.

The Hampshire openers have laid a good platform, but Yorkshire will be pleased to see the back of Carberry.

James Vince comes to the crease with England selector James Whittaker in the stands watching on. Hampshire still need 229 runs to win.

  5. Bell & Trott rebuildingpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 94-2

After making a complete fool of myself yesterday, saying it was going to be a day for the batsmen, I think I may have just about got it right today.

Warwickshire pair Ian Bell (35) and Jonathan Trott (20), with 35,237 first-class runs between them, have put on a fifty stand for the third wicket.

The deficit is still a massive 269, but batting is looking pretty easy at the moment.

  6. 'Yorkshire need a wicket'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

Carbs hits a maximumpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 85-0

I just mentioned Essex's bowlers are on the ropes - so are Yorkshire's.

Michael Carberry pulls Steven Patterson for six and is up to 40.

His opening partner Jimmy Adams is on 43. It's a super start for Hampshire in pursuit of 320.

  8. Davies approaching maiden tonpublished at 12:27 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Essex 159 v Lancashire 319 & 193-2

When I said Alex Davies had never scored a first-class century earlier, I failed to mention his career-best score is 99.

The Lancashire youngster is just eight away from three figures now. With Essex's bowlers on the ropes, he'll never get a better opportunity...

  9. Spinner on at Headingleypublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 69-0

Yorkshire's fast bowlers haven't quite done the business this morning, so spinner Azeem Rafiq comes on for his first bowl in the match.

It's not a good start. Jimmy Adams slaps his first ball for four to move up to 39.

This chase is well and truly on.

    Essex 159 v Lancashire 319 & 178-2

Lancashire opener Alex Davies has never scored a first-class century, but he's within sight today.

The 22-year-old wicketkeeper has just hit his 15th boundary of the innings off Neil Wagner to move to 82.

    Lancashire's lead is 338.

  12. Trott and Bell slow Surrey's momentumpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 65-2

In the first innings both Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell were dismissed by the whirlwind of Mark Footitt in the same over, but the former England Test pair have provided a steadying presence at The Oval so far this morning.

Warwickshire are still 298 behind, but if they are to stand a chance of salvaging the game a partnership between these two old hands, which is currently on 28, appears vital.

  13. 'Ominous start from Hants openers'published at 11:59 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 46-0

Former Hampshire all-rounder Dimi Mascarenhas, now New Zealand's bowling coach, is backing the away side to knock off the total at Headingley.

Openers Jimmy Adams and Michael Carberry are still at the crease. Can they do it? 274 more needed with all 10 wickets in hand.

    Breaking

    Notts 329 & 9-0 beat Leicestershire 251 & 81 by 10 wickets

That didn't take long. Leicestershire didn't even bother to use their proper bowlers after setting Notts four to win.

Nottinghamshire opener Greg Smith biffs Paul Horton for six to seal victory over their East Midlands rivals.

And now we're down to four matches!

Nottinghamshire fast bowler James Pattinson cleans up fellow Australian Clint McKay to finish with 5-29 and Leicestershire are out for 81.

Pattinson has eight wickets on debut to go with an unbeaten 89. Decent!

Notts will chase just four to win shortly.

    Yorkshire 273 & 187 v Hampshire 141 & 39-0

They've had a couple of lives this morning - Michael Carberry and Jimmy Adams have both been dropped - but Hampshire are going along nicely in their pursuit of 320 at Headingley.

One side not going along so nicely is Leicestershire...

  19. Bright future aheadpublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 9 April 2017

    Surrey 454 v Warwickshire 91 & 46-2

This guy has some future ahead of him.

Surrey's Sam Curran took his 60th first-class wicket this morning.

The 18-year-old averages 26.60 with the ball - slightly better than his older brother Tom (28.23).

    Exciting times at Surrey.

Dane Vilas comes to the middle to join Alex Davies who is unbeaten on 55.
