These two are very good players of spin but you have to question Pakistan's tactics. I played against Nat Sciver recently and you don't realise how hard she hits it until you're stood at extra cover. It's little wonder the Pakistan fielders are struggling to get to the ball.

While the players take drinks, here's a selection of fours from Heather Knight for you to watch.

    Eng 162-2

Captain Sana Mir has four spinners to rotate - including herself - and she's had a change of ends, but it's more steady accumulation from England, while just for once there's a good bit of fielding on the boundary as Knight guides one to third man and is restricted to a well-run three.

Sciver, meanwhile, shows her power with a flashing cut shot for four. Time for drinks, well-earned by the England third-wicket pair who have added 120 in 18 overs.

  4. Eng 151-2published at 26 overs

    Knight 51, Sciver 67

Effortlessly, Knight and Sciver milk Nahida for seven from the over - five singles and a two - pushing the score past 150.

A little earlier, this is how they reached 100...

This match has drawn the biggest crowd so far, with more than 2,500 tickets sold. More than 2,000 school kids are also here to enjoy the game.

Thanks, JL. Pleased to report that my first action in the chair is to report that captain Heather Knight has a half-century under her belt, calmly guiding a single to move reach 50 from 65 balls.

I was just thinking how Heather must be rather enjoying playing ODIs at Leicester - on her captaincy debut last year, after forgetting to bring out a coin for the toss, she took 5-26 with the ball before hitting a matchwinning 50 not out.

The hundred partnership between Sciver and Knight, it's been stirring stuff and there is plenty of excitable cheering from the youngsters in the crowd, but maybe that's because it's time for Mr Mark Mitchener.

Mark le Huray‏: I watched Pakistan versus England at Taunton last year. The fielding cost Pakistan at least 30 runs. Sounds like the same here again.

  9. Eng 139-2published at 24 overs

    Sciver 60, Knight 46

More spin but no cap this time for Nahida Khan, although she does have a maroon cloth protruding from her rear quarters. It's flapping about a bit but I don't think we will have a Curtly Ambrose wristband situation. It might not even be visible to the batsmen in this gloomy light. No boundaries in an accurate opening over.

Brilliant from Nat Sciver, she's played with authority and played all round the ground. She's brilliant to bat with as she keeps it very simple, there's not too much chat about tactics and she's quite a relaxed figure.

    Nat Sciver

Nat Sciver has certainly injected some pace into her batting style. In 2015, she scored her ODI runs at a strike-rate of 78.60, in 2016 that number rose to 112.24 and in 2017 it's 121.05. Clear progression.

    (Eng 134-2) Sciver 56, Knight 45

Sciver races to her half century, reaching the landmark from 35 balls with her eighth four and celebrating with a sweep for another boundary off the next ball. A very profitable over for England.

England are taking good options here - low-risk, running hard, and the line Pakistan are bowling isn't quite matching the fields they've set.

I've played a lot of county cricket with Tammy Beaumont, and she didn't look as confident as she normally does.

  14. Eng 117-2published at 22 overs

No boundaries in this one from Mir, her counterpart Knight looking perplexed when the final ball is not called wide.

I've played in many of these games [in cloudy and wet conditions] when you think "we've got to win the toss and bowl" but you can get under pressure to take wickets. I used to love playing in World Cups as you're playing different opponents in every game.

  16. Eng 114-2published at 21 overs

Shot of the day from Knight, advancing down the pitch and lofting the left-armer Nashra over cover for four, the second boundary of the over. A gaggle of maroon-cladded children (their clothing being the maroon aspect) perform celebratory jigs in their seats.

  17. Eng 103-2published at 20 overs

These spinners are racing through the overs, which has good points and bad from my point of view. A sixth boundary for the England captain and this partnership is developing nicely.

These two have batted brilliantly - Heather Knight didn't get off to a flier, but she's taken the right options at the right time in terms of her shot selection.

Here's Knight hitting Sana Mir for successive boundaries:

Four singles for England from the spin of Nashra, scampering through impressively. A few spectators have begun their lunch already and I may present today's commentary team captain Marc Higginson with my donation of some Jaffa Cakes - or orange-flavoured cakes, or are they biscuits?

England are going along nicely, making good use of some of the field settings Pakistan have made. They're following the ball - while they seem keep to pack the off side and bowl outside off stump, but haven't had the discipline to execute it.

They've pretty much had three point fielders for Heather, and a sweeper, so it wouldn't hurt to take one of the three out and put them on the leg side.
