  1. Eng 92-2published at 18 overs

    Knight 36, Sciver 23

A third successive spinner in a cap, Mr Mitchener suggests a "hat-trick," as the slender left-armer Sadia Yousuf glides into the crease. It should help the over-rate though. Steady stuff from Sadia, keeping the boundaries at bay.

India took that powerplay early in the first game, when the openers were going well - it's not something that we've seen often in the ICC Women's Championship in the last couple of years, and it worked well. I like seeing that aggression in the game.

  3. Eng 88-2published at 17 overs

    Run-rate 5.18

Nashra's action is not a thing of beauty, not quite Paul Adams but there are similarities with a crouching style a whirling low arm delivery. A more economical over, however, just singles conceded.

  4. WATCH: Knight's lofted fourpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

England captain Heather Knight is starting to enjoy herself out there now, watch this boundary from her repertoire of strokes.

  5. Eng 85-2published at 16 overs

    Knight 34, Sciver 18

A productive over for England as three boundaries come off the bowling of Mir, one of which is the result of a dreadful piece of fielding on the square leg boundary, not so much a long barrier as no barrier at all as the ball squeezes through, followed by the familiar bowed head and raised hand of apology

  6. Eng 71-2published at 15 overs

    Knight 25, Sciver 13

More spin with a cap as slow left-armer Nashra Sandhu enters the fray. Knight pummels a fiercely struck drive through the covers for four more.

  7. WATCH: Sciver strikes Kainat for fourpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 27 June 2017

Natalie Sciver has given the innings some impetus, have a look at this sweetly struck boundary.

  8. Eng 66-2published at 14 overs

    Knight 20, Sciver 13

The first introduction of spin as skipper Sana Mir comes into the attack trundling to the crease in her cap a la Geoffrey Boycott. Knight collects her third boundary and will relish the opportunity for more.

We've seen a lot of swing and movement this morning - some control from Asmavia and, let's say, some variety from Kainat.

And I think I know what it's like to travel with royalty now, as I came into the ground today with Charlotte Edwards. Normally you have to worry about having your pass or getting your bag checked!

    Glenn Medeiros

Another steady over from Asmavia with just the two singles and her seven overs have gone for only 22. A young spectator with a remarkably luxuriant bouffant hairstyle and extravagantly floral shirt understandably comes under the attention of the cameras. There are not many like him in the ground. He bears a slight resemblance to a young Glenn Medeiros, the one-hit wonder of the late 80's, which I realise will not mean much to younger listeners.

Pakistan generally don't have too much depth in their seam bowling, so it might be a lot of spin after these two - and Nat Sciver plays spin better than probably anyone in world cricket.

  12. Eng 57-2published at 12 overs

    Knight 13, Sciver 11

Kainat still serving up a mixture of deliveries, she has taken 2-36 from her six overs and both England batters collect boundaries, Sciver blazing one down the ground with impressive bat speed.

It's quite hard to prepare for using DRS as they don't have it in any other international or domestic women's cricket. You have to rely on the keeper - England's Sarah Taylor is very experienced, but what if you're in a tournament with an inexperienced keeper? I was surprised the other day that India nearly didn't go for the DRS when Nat Sciver was caught behind, but good for them that they did. That decision, and the Fran Wilson run-out, arguably turned the game.

  14. Eng 48-2published at 11 overs

    Knight 9, Sciver 6

A maiden from Asmavia, the first of the innings. There is a sprinkling of spectators, plenty of excitable Leicester Grammar School children enjoying an escape from the classroom and also looking on with interest is a more mature gentleman with a WG Grace-style grey beard, appropriate for today's venue.

Andy Moore: I can't shake off the feeling that England look light on batting. Some of the top order are too inconsistent. I think they rely too much on Knight & Sciver - Taylor still working her way back & Beaumont doesn't look in form.

  16. Eng 48-2published at 10 overs

    Knight 9, Sciver 6

A positive start from Natalie Sciver, striking her third delivery to the boundary.

Tammy's not had her best day at the wicket - she's gone at that wide one and given a big edge through to the keeper. She had so much success against Pakistan last year, but it wasn't her day today

  18. wicket

    Beaumont c Nawaz b Kainat (Eng 42-2)

But Beaumont has gone this time. A scratchy innings comes to an end when she flails at a wide one and gets a thick edge through to the keeper to give the persistent Kainat a second wicket.

  20. Eng 42-1published at 9 overs

    Beaumont 14, Knight 9

A much-needed second boundary for Beaumont, only the fifth of the innings.
