New Zealand captain Suzie Bates: "We thought if one of our top order scores big then we would be able to chase it. The partnership from Beaumont and Sciver took the game away from us.

"I was pleased that we brought it back at the end but we couldn't break their partnership and that is where they won the game."

Asked about the dropped catch of Nat Sciver: "Any drop against a good side will hurt you. We know we have to take those chances and then we could have restricted them but it wasn't to be.

"We have played really good cricket in this tournament and lost to England and Australia who are quality sides. It is not doom and gloom. If we play well we can beat India."

Player of the match Nat Sciver,asked where her innings of 129 ranks in her career: "Pretty high. When I went in I knew we needed a partnership. It was a little trickier to bat than in previous games. It was not about targets at that time, it was about playing smart cricket."

Asked about the 'Nat-meg', Sciver said: "That sounds pretty good it is not quite intentional yet but I am working on it. It depends on the length of the ball. If it is right length then I am able to do it."

England captain Heather Knight on the 170-run stand between Sciver and Beaumont: "We were really under pressure and that partnership was worth more on that pitch.

"The batters really stand out at the moment and putting in those big partnerships. You want to have those top five get big runs. It's credit to the hard work they've done in the last year. It's really nice to see.

"I said winning is a habit before the game and hopefully we can carry on."

England are doing everything really well. Today was exceptional, the way they rebuilt their innings from 52-3. The only area you can criticise is their catching - that has been a constant problem in the World Cup. You hope it doesn't hurt them.

A brilliant performance.

Anya Shrubsole's figures are remarkable. She concedes just a single from her seventh over and has two wickets for just 19 runs. She set the tone right at the top as New Zealand fell behind the required rate.

New Zealand hang on for another over. The Derby crowd are ready and waiting for the winning moment. They have been treated to an excellent England performance, ever since they slipt to 52-3.

It was indeed a leg-cutter from Shrubsole that did for Tahuhu. It nipped away a little off the pitch and was too good for the tailender. How long until England seal the deal?

Alex Hartley is back into the attack having made the game-changing breakthrough by dismissing Suzie Bates earlier on. Can the left-arm spinner nip another two wickets out?

Perkins is batting way outside off stump to rule out the risk of lbw so she'll have to hope for dismissals caught or bowled. Perkins picks up a single to help the Kiwis beyond 200.

Katie Perkins is actually playing pretty well as she sees partners come and go, sometimes her own fault (see below). She chips a drive down the ground for another four. Tahuhu tries to work the ball into the leg-side but twice picks out the same fielder at mid-wicket. "Wait on!"

It has been an all-round bowling performance from England with five different bowlers making breakthroughs. Jenny Gunn almost has a third as Lea Tahuhu skies the ball in the air but it drops agonisingly between two fielders. Katie Perkins is still ticking along nicely in this likely losing cause. Scoop shots have been the order of the day and she gets another to the rope.

"Another run out girls," says Sarah Taylor under the lid. That Katherine Brunt drop and the mis-field in the previous over aside, England have been good in the field, quick to prevent singles and a few diving stops on the boundary edge to stop four.
