Runs have started to flow in recent overs which will worry England.

    211 from 204 needed.

  2. South Africa go top of table - for nowpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

South Africa boosted their hopes of reaching the semi-finals with an eight-wicket thrashing of Sri Lanka at Taunton.

They overhauled a modest target of 102 with 26.5 overs to spare thanks to Laura Volvaardt's unbeaten 48 and 38 not out from Mignon du Preez. Dan van Niekerk earlier took 4-24 to bowl Sri Lanka out for 100.

VIctory lifted South Africa temporarily to the top of the group table on nine points, with the winners of the England-New Zealand and Australia-India matches set to replace them.

  3. Appeal - Not outpublished at 16 overs

    Target 285

A bit of flight from Hartley and she almost tempts Bates out of her ground as Sarah Taylor has the bails off in a flash. Taylor likes it but the umpire isn't interested. It's the right decision as the opener just had her foot down in time.

  4. NZ 73-1published at 15.3 overs

    Target 285

New bower, same result. Alex Hartley drops short and Bates pulls for four. And again! Same shot. Four more.

  5. NZ 64-1published at 15 overs

    Bates 27 Satterthwaite 24

Now Marsh strays in line. This is a better period for New Zealand. For the fourth over in a row they find the boundary, this time courtesy of a sweep by Satterthwaite.

She has almost caught up with her team-mate in the scoring.

There are 51 adults and children from Haddenham Youth Cricket Club in Bucks coming to Lord's to watch the Women's World Cup final. We can't wait. (I'm listening, by the way. First-class commentary as it always is on radio) Well done to Haddenham Under 11s, who were third in their league this year. Great kids and great coaches.

    Target 285

Despite the boundary off the first ball, Jenny Gunn only allows the Kiwis to take six runs from that over.

These two are starting to build. They've been a little slow in scoring but with power to come, England won't want this to develop.

  8. NZ 56-1published at 13.1 overs

    Target 285

Fortunate but another four early in the over for New Zealand.

Satterwhaite tries to cut and gets a bottom edge which goes through the legs of England 'keeper Sarah Taylor for four.

  9. NZ 52-1published at 13 overs

    Target 285

Bates' strike-rate is just around the 50 mark but now she has been in for almost an hour she is going to put her foot down.

She tries to hoik the ball over mid on once unsuccessfully but repeats the shot a ball later and finds the rope. That's her third boundary. Check out all three below.

  10. NZ 44-1published at 12 overs

    Target 285

Double change for England with Jenny Gunn on for a bowl. Gunn has an awkward action and the ball sticks in the pitch a little as Bates almost mistimes a drive to cover.

That is much better timing from Satterthwaite. A bit too wide from Gunn and she's hit to the cover boundary.

  11. NZ 39-1published at 11 overs

    Target 285

Heather Knight strays away from her reliable opening partnership of Brunt and Shrubsole for the first time by bringing Laura Marsh into the attack.

The off-spinner is replacing Dani Hazell in the England line-up today. This pitch should be to her liking and she does indeed get a bit of turn. I think she fancies a go at the left-handed Satterthwaite as the bowler applauds Tammy Beaumont for not allowing the batter off strike.

    Just three from the over.

It's one of those days when you have to graft as a batsman to get in.

  13. NZ 36-1published at 10 overs

    Target 285

Shrubsole concedes a boundary for the first time since the opening over as Bates gets right to the pitch of the ball and drives through the off-side.

That's the first 10 overs done and dusted. For all my compliments to this start from England's bowlers, England's score after 10 overs? 36-2.

There's a long way to go yet...

  14. NZ 31-1published at 9 overs

    Target 285

Good comeback from Brunt. Five dots follow that early boundary. Heather Knight watches on in the covers, her eyes hidden by red sunglasses. The skipper must be pleased by this start.

That is a really good shot by somebody who knows how to play this game.

  16. NZ 31-1published at 8.1 overs

    Target 285

Beautiful. There's the proof New Zealand absolutely have the talent to chase this total. Amy Satterthwaite drives to the right of mid-off for four. Glorious.

  17. NZ 27-1published at 8 overs

    Target 285

"I have never seen Suzie Bates bat so slow in my life," says Ebony Rainford-Brent on TMS. The opener gets away with one as she skews a drive and it just clears the fielder at cover, allowing Bates to collect a single.

Shrubsole is still not giving anything away. Just two from the over.

  18. NZ 25-1published at 7 overs

    Target 285

Suzie Bates has just four from 24 balls as Brunt starts the next over with another three dots. The Kiwi knows she needs to get a shift on and throws her hands at the wide-ish ball to pick up her first boundary.

New Zealand need a few more of them. The required rate is now indeed over six.

  19. NZ 19-1published at 6 overs

    Target 285

Already the required run-rate is starting to edge towards six as England continue to restrict the scoring. After a couple of early boundaries Shrubsole has been well and truly on the money.

Back-to-back maidens for her. Here's how she made the breakthrough...

  20. NZ 19-1published at 5 overs

    Target 285

Satterthwaite gets off the mark with a couple to start Brunt's next over. That swung! An inswinger from around the wicket by Brunt beats the left-hander on the drive.

    Get a slip in, Heather.

Every ball targeting the stumps. Miserly from Brunt.
