Jenny Gunn is now three clear at the top of the England all-time leading wicket-takers in ODIs. She has 127 and Katherine Brunt 124.

  2. NZ 172-8published at 38 overs

    Target 285

That's a good point from Ebony. New Zealand are perhaps better trying to bat out a few overs and get to a half-decent total, rather than get skittled for below 200.

They need to keep their net run rate up with one game remaining and a semi-final place on the run.

England won't have to worry about that. Barring a Kiwi miracle, they'll be in the last four.

New Zealand need to take what they can from this game, because they will have a fight against India in theri final group game against India on Saturday.

That was a car crash. Perkins stitched up Kerr.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37.1 overs

Kerr run out 0 (NZ 170-8)

Desperate from New Zealand. There was never a run but Katie Perkins sets off, leaving Amelia Kerr with little chance of making her ground at the striker's end. Nat Sciver throws straight into the gloves of Sarah Taylor who does the rest.

Kerr is out without facing a ball.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37 overs

    Kasperek b Gunn 3 (NZ 170-7)

England are on the brink. Another wicket in the bag. This time Leigh Kasperek swipes horribly across the line and is bowled by Jenny Gunn.

That wicket just came as a result of pressure. New Zealand know they have to find the boundary. Looking at the replay, it kept pretty low which makes the shot look even worse.

  7. NZ 165-6published at 36 overs

    Target 285

What have New Zealand got left?

The required rate is well above eight runs an over now. Surely that is too much. Leigh Kasperek is the new batter and is off the mark early. England are racing around in the outfield. They want to finish the job.

Bermingham, under pressure, had to go for a big swipe but Brunt made good ground. She's still angry with that last drop. You feel it's just a matter of time now.

  9. NZ 159-6published at 35 overs

    Target 285

In the end that drop from Katherine Brunt didn't cost England. Erin Bermingham added just 13 before being dismissed.

    England are closing in.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 12 July 2017

    Bermingham c Brunt b Gunn 19 (NZ 159-6)

Now that might be that. Erin Bermingham looked dangerous and had to keep going for the big shots but this time she falls. She heaves the ball into the leg-side where Katherine Brunt, a couple of overs after dropping a catch, takes holds on.

Not much of a celebration or smile from Brunt. She throws the ball into the ground after the catch.

  11. 6 runs

    NZ 158-5published at 34 overs

    Target 285

Don't count out the Kiwis just yet!

That is a huge hit from Erin Bermingham him! She slog sweeps Heather Knight for six, the first of the innings. That traveled a few yards over the rope. A big hit in anyone's book.

The crowd has gone a little quiet. They couldn't, could they?

  12. NZ 152-5published at 33 overs

Four more to Bermingham. That won't help Katherine Brunt's mood.

It would take some innings but could that drop cost England.

  13. dropped catch

Bermingham dropped on 6published at 32 overs

Oh dear, oh dear. If there is one area England have fallen short in this tournament it is their catching and Katherine Brunt has dropped a sitter.

The ball is just chipped straight to her at cover and she spills it straight out. Brunt is not happy. Hands on her head and a face like thunder.

Tammy Beaumont tries to have a word with the seamer but I think she might be better left alone for an over.

  14. NZ 143-5published at 31 overs

    Target 285

A bit of confusion here as we pause as the umpire has a word with Heather Knight after Marsh beats Perkins outside off-stump. I have no idea what that chat was about to be honest but Heather Knight is smiling. Nothing too serious I don't think.

The smile will disappear with deliveries like that though. Marsh gets wayward and Bermingham picks up her first four.

  15. NZ 138-5published at 30 overs

    Target 285

Heather Knight goes from one extreme to the other as she follows the wicket ball with a chest-high full toss that is rightly called a no ball. Much better on the free hit a ball later. You can't do much with that.

This looks a big ask for the Kiwis now. Still 147 needed five wickets down.

New Zealand are really struggling now. They had already lost their key players but it's now very much down to Katie Perkins, who wouldn't have that much experience chasing such a big score.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 29.2 overs

    Martin b Knight 21 (NZ 133-5)

Heather Knight brings herself on to bowl and has a wicket second ball! Brilliant captaincy! She just gets one to turn a little into the right-handed Martin and the ball skips through the gate and into the stumps.

England are well on their way to the semi-finals now.

  18. NZ 132-4published at 29 overs

Need 153 to win from 21 overs

It is really starting to turn now as Laura Marsh completes her eighth over. She has one for 36 so far. Katey Martin is starting to accumulate quietly. She has 21 from 30.

  19. NZ 130-4published at 28 overs

    Target 285

Like last week against Australia, Alex Hartley has two big wickets to her name. She has been a tad expensive though and gets hit to the rope once again here, this time by Katey Martin.

Hartley is lucky to avoid the same fate later in the over as Lauren Winfield produces some good fielding on the boundary edge to save a run.

  20. NZ 121-4published at 27 overs

    Target 285

We thought spin would be the way to go on this tired pitch and after a difficult start both Hartley and Laura Marsh are bowling very well now. Marsh finds some big spin with the first ball of the over, the sort of turn that strikes fear into a batters' mind.

Howzat?! Marsh thinks she has another wicket as Martin is hit on the front pad on the sweep but the umpire isn't interested. If there is no bat, that is close. Very close.
