  1. SA 152-4published at 39 overs

Du Preez 44, Van Niekerk 15

Van Niekerk squeezes a four past the diving short third man fielder, while the Proteas skipper attempts a reverse sweep which flies over the keeper's head for a single. Ten overs ago, we were talking about whether South Africa could reach 250 - that looks a long way off at this stage. But if these two stay in, you never know...

That's a brilliant over from Katherine Brunt. She's got a smile on her face. She was a bit nervous early on but she's settled down. Her line was impeccable.

  3. SA 145-4published at 38 overs

    Brunt 7-1-24-0

With Sarah Taylor up to the stumps, Dane van Niekerk has to defend against Katherine Brunt - while a slower ball is smacked straight along the ground to cover. The Barnsley right-armer completes a maiden over - a collector's item in a powerplay.

If South Africa can get themselves to 250, then that's a score they can work with. It's not ideal and they'll have to go at eight an over, but it's workable.

And while they all take drinks, watch that Sarah Taylor stumping again from earlier. Magnificent.

  6. drinks break

    Drinks breakpublished at 37 overs

    SA 145-4

Laura Marsh finally concedes her first boundary, with the fourth ball of her seventh over, as Dane van Niekerk steps across and guides the ball down the leg side for four.

The players have earned some drinks - it looks like Danielle Hazell and Georgia Elwiss on refreshment duty for England.

There's been just 14 fours and no sixes in this South Africa innings as we enter the 36th over.

  8. Watch: Knight's eventful overpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

It's a day late to be a Manic Monday, but take a look at Heather Knight's "manic" first over which contained two wickets and a dropped catch.

  9. Powerplaypublished at 36 overs

    SA 139-4

Bajan umpire Gregory Brathwaite signals the batting powerplay for overs 36-40 - remember, in women's ODIs they're still playing the rules which were in place at the start of the ICC Women's Championship two or three years ago - and with Knight having made the breakthrough, she turns back to spearhead Katherine Brunt, who's rolling her fingers across the ball with the occasional slower delivery. "Great work Kathy B" calls a fielder as the Proteas pair help themselves to two singles apiece.

Over the next five overs they need to add 30 runs, which would be a healthy amount, then start to push on in that last ten. South Africa can't afford to go big in the next five overs, lose a few wickets or two, then end up bowled out.

  11. SA 135-4published at 35 overs

    Marsh 6-0-15-0

Knight decides to keep Shrubsole's last two overs up her sleeve, and it's off-spin from both ends as Laura Marsh returns to the attack. England have whistled through their overs at an impressive rate (compared to the men, at least) - and are through 35 overs in just over two hours. Some good control from the miserly Marsh puts the brakes on, while yet again Knight leads by example in the field with a sprawling stop at short extra cover.

Did you know, England have never won a World Cup semi-final?

Despite winning the tournament in 1973, 1993 and 2009, all those events featured a single group table or Super Six preceding the final. They were losing semi-finalists in 1997 and 2005.

  13. SA 133-4published at 34 overs

Du Preez 38, Van Niekerk 2

Knight's second over can't match the drama of her first, though South Africa run another risky single as the edgy Van Niekerk gets off the mark with a tap to mid-wicket, and Du Preez just beats Natalie Sciver's underarm throw to the striker's end. Some better running between the wickets brings them a few more singles.

Sarah Taylor is different gravy behind the stumps. She's on another level with her movement and quick hands.

  15. SA 127-4published at 33 overs

    Shrubsole 8-1-24-1

A chastened South Africa see off Shrubsole's eighth over. Just a single from it.

...but for now, watch Laura Wolvaardt hitting Natalie Sciver for two fours down the ground.

  17. SA 126-4published at 32 overs

Captain Dane van Niekerk is in at number six.

So the skipper's first over featured a wicket, a dropped catch and then another wicket. It's as much as I can do to keep up. You'll be able to enjoy those highlights very soon...

That might be because of nerves, with Kapp anxious to get things moving.

Kapp run out 1 (SA 126-4)

It's all happening! Having been dropped first ball, and worked her second for a single, Du Preez goes for a quick single next ball and Marizanne Kapp is run out diving for the crease as Anya Shrubsole's throw is expertly gathered by Sarah Taylor. A quick check with the third ump, and Kapp is on her way.
