  1. Signing offpublished at 22:07 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

So that's it for what has been a pretty damp evening of cricket.

Wins for Durham and Hampshire at least meant it wasn't a total wash-out, but there were no-results in our other five games.

There is more T20 Blast action over the weekend with Essex Eagles facing Gloucestershire at Chelmsford on Saturday and six matches on Sunday.

We will have BBC radio commentary on each of them, so please tune in.

    Thanks for being with us!

  2. HAMPSHIRE BEAT GLOUCESTERSHIRE BY 24 RUNS (DLS METHOD)published at 22:02 British Summer Time 28 July 2017
    Breaking

And there is the confirmation of a win for Hampshire against Gloucestershire at Bristol.

The visitors were chasing 175 in 19 overs after Michael Klinger's earlier unbeaten 101 off 58 balls had lit up a damp west country evening.

But, thanks to James Vince (42) and Rilee Rossouw (45 not out) Hampshire were well on course for victory when the rain returned in their 12th over on 121-3.

My word! What a strange old game at Grace Road this evening....

Meanwhile, still no word of an end to the showers at Bristol and as it stands, Hampshire will get the win over Gloucestershire in that one.

It's seventh time lucky for Durham Jets as Paul Coughlin drives the penultimate ball of the game for four in pouring rain at Grace Road to secure their first T20 Blast win of the summer.

It was an eventful final over with Paul Collingwood and Jack Burnham run out from successive balls, but Coughlin was up to the task as he reached 38 not out off 18 balls.

For Leicestershire, who posted 88-2 in their seven overs, it is their third defeat in a row.

  5. Durham set up thrilling finishpublished at 21:48 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

It's still in the balance at Grace Road as Durham finish the sixth over of their innings on 81-2. They need another eight runs from the one over remaining, for what would be their first T20 Blast win of the season.

Paul Collingwod is still there on 33 not out, after hitting two sixes off Mathew Pillans in that over, with Paul Coughlin on 30. It's raining heavily, but surely we're going to see this through.

  6. Collingwood leads the chargepublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

Former England batsman Paul Collingwood is going along nicely as Durham chase 89 to beat Leicestershire in their seven overs-a-side crash and bash.

He has 21 from 11 balls and the Jets are 49-2 after 4.3 overs.

  7. WATCH: Scott hits 'enormous' six after rain delaypublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

So, a very disappointing finish to our featured match at Hove. But there were a few moments of excitement for the crowd during the Middlesex innings - here's one of them, provided by batsman George Scott.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Bristolpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

    Gloucestershire Gladiators 174-5 (19 overs) v Hampshire 121-3 (11.4 overs)

    Oh dear!

We're not doing very well at dodging the showers tonight are we?

The players are heading off at Bristol now and it sounds pretty heavy. As it stands, Hampshire will take the points here as the DLS par score is 97.

  9. Postpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

So, with no result at Hove, we'll head west to Bristol to see how this one between Gloucestershire and Hampshire might finish up...

  10. rain stops play

Match abandoned at Hovepublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

    Middlesex 136-6 (17.4 overs) v Sussex - no result

And right on cue, there it is. Match abandoned at Hove and the points are shared.

  11. Taylor grabs double for Glospublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

Gloucestershire strike a double blow against Hampshire at Bristol where Matt Taylor has Michael Carberry lbw for 20 and George Bailey is caught behind second ball. Rilee Rossouw is going well on 44 from 26 balls and he now appears to be the key if they are to get close to their victory target of 175 from 19 overs. The visitors are 114-3 in the 11th.

  12. Still raining at Hovepublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

    Middlesex 136-6 (17.4 overs) v Sussex

Still no news of a resumption at Hove sadly.

In fact, we're getting dangerously close to the time when we might have to call this off. 21:55 BST is the latest they can get back out there to give Sussex five overs to chase a target for the win.

  13. Bad start by Durhampublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

Having to score 89 from seven overs is a tall order for Durham against Leicestershire - and it's even taller now as opening batsman Cameron Steel loses his off-stump to Dieter Klein in their first.

Durham skipper Paul Collingwood comes out at number three and the Jets are 9-1. Just the 80 needed from the six remaining.

  14. Hampshire lose first wicketpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

An important wicket at Bristol where James Vince has gone, caught behind off Thisara Perera for 42 from 31 balls. Michael Carberry has now joined Rilee Rossouw, but Hampshire are going well on 88-1 in the ninth over, chasing 175 off 19 to beat Gloucestershire.

  15. Ronchi rampantpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 28 July 2017

Quite an innings by Luke Ronchi, who finishes with 63 not out from 21 balls as Leicestershire Foxes post 88-2 from their seven overs against Durham Jets at Grace Road. Ronchi slices the final ball of the innings for his third six, and also hit 10 fours.

Will it be seven defeats in a row for the north-east county, or will someone rise to the challenge and carry them to their first T20 Blast win of the summer? It's a big ask.
