  1. Storm 64-5published at 12 overs

    Need 37 from 42 balls

Here's Alice Macleod and she drives for a single to get off the mark, before Stafanie Taylor cracks an almighty drive for a couple of runs to end the over. There's some superb fielding by a tumbling Rene Farrell on the boundary to cut off the ball as it made its way towards the ropes.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.4 overs

    Hennessy b Marsh 21 (Storm 61-5)

She's yorked herself! Hennessy came down the pitch, Marsh got it to turn, and the ball has clattered into the stumps and made a real mess of them. Now then. Is that the wicket that turns things back in Surrey's favour?

Take a bow, Marizanne Kapp. She finishes with figures of 4-1-11-3, with 19 dot balls to boot.

  5. Storm 59-4published at 11 overs

    Need 42 from 48 balls

Can Marizanne Kapp get the breakthrough? She's into her final over as Sciver chucks her the ball. Hennessy plays across her pads to a wide delivery, before Hennessy cracks a straight drive back - oh, and it just misses the stumps! Kapp got a hand to it but it just, maybe by an inch or two, crept past the stump. Kapp sighs, readjusts her ponytail and fires down a fuller delivery that Taylor hustles away for two.

Surrey need to try to squeeze Storm and create a bit of pressure. But if they bring cover up it's easy to hit over the top for a single. They need the people in the ring to generate those dot balls.

Laura Marsh spends an age directing traffic before she spears in a shorter delivery that Taylor carves away for a couple. She then clips a ball tantalisingly in the air as Marsh comes around the wicket, but it drops short of an advancing fielder.

The Jointing Tech South West stand, to the left of the media centre, has just raised the noise a notch or two in the last couple of overs.

Many of players' families are occupying the reserved stand, including the entire Sciver clan, which includes the England all-rounder's mum, dad, grandmother and at least 15 other members.

Fran Wilson's family are close by too and there is plenty of playful frivolity going on in the afternoon sun at Hove.

  9. Storm 52-4published at 10 overs

    Need 49 from 60 balls

Close! Stafanie Taylor pushes an Alex Hartley delivery just beyond the fingers of a diving point for a single. Georgia Hennessy and Taylor are getting plenty of oomph behind their shots but it's only bringing them singles at the moment. Hartley waves her arms above her head like a orchestral conductor as she trots in, and Taylor cracks a single to bring up Storm's 50.

Laura Marsh is back into the attack as Surrey look to dry up the runs. She's got quite a long run-up for a spinner. Hennessy takes stock of the field, glancing around before settling herself and defending the ball back down the pitch. There's a hint of turn for Marsh and Hennessy pushes a single, before Taylor goes for a ferocious sweep and just avoids edging onto her stumps.

  11. Storm 43-4published at 8 overs

Spin! Alex Hartley's into the attack. Stafanie Taylor and Georgia Hennessy work the singles here and there to take five runs from the over.

  12. Storm 38-4published at 7 overs

    Need 63 from 78 balls

Stafanie Taylor gives herself a few deliveries before she pushes off the back foot, and Lizelle Lee tumbles to cut off a boundary. That'll be four, though, as Georgia Hennessy gets caught pushing forward again and this time the ball flies off the edge and into the rope at third man.

Whoever wins the powerplay wins about 85% of the games. Storm have scored more runs but they have lost four big wickets.

Powerplay done - here's Australia seamer Rene Farrell.

  15. Kapp rips through Stormpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 1 September 2017

Marizanne Kapp already has three wickets, this was the third after a brilliant piece of keeping from Tammy Beaumont.

  16. Storm 32-4published at 6 overs

So close to wicket number five! Georgia Hennessy is rooted to the spot as she pokes at a Kapp delivery, and the ball takes the edge and flies right where first slip was stood a few overs ago! Sciver promptly sticks a slip in - nothing like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted - and Hennessy is beaten again by a peach outside off stump. This is a superb stint from Marizanne Kapp.

  17. Storm 28-4published at 5 overs

    Need 73 from 90 balls

Natalie Sciver continues, and Georgia Hennessy swivel-pulls into the deep for a lazy single. The Southern Vipers are watching on with interest from their dressing room as Sciver strikes Taylor on the pads, before Hennessy lets the ball run off the face of the bat for yet another single. Ooh, and that's a welcome boundary as Taylor cuts a short, wide delivery through point with aplomb.

  18. It was all going so well...published at 15:58 British Summer Time 1 September 2017

It looked like a good start for Western Storm with 12 runs from the first over - including this four from Rachel Priest...

  19. dropped catch

Hennessy dropped on 0published at 4 overs

    Storm 20-4

Oh, it's all happening. Tammy Beaumont has just taken a belter - and then she drops a sitter as Georgia Hennessy has a little flutter at an off stump delivery. Stafanie Taylor then gets bat on ball to pat away the remainder of the over.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3.1 overs

    Luff c Beaumont b Kapp 5 (Storm 17-4)

Marizanne Kapp! Oh, that is superb work from bowler and keeper. Kapp speared it a touch wider outside off stump, Sophie Luff chased it and a full-stretch Tammy Beaumont clung on. That went quickly to her right, it was going low along the ground, and Beaumont judged it beautifully.
