Watch out quarter-finals - Somerset are coming for you with a late sprint!

Hampshire are in all sorts of strife chasing 190 on their home turf as Somerset reduce them to 64-8 in reply.

As it stands, a big win for Somerset could see them snatch fourth place in the South Group.

  2. Bears cruising at Old Traffordpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Lancashire 163-4 (20 overs) v Birmingham 115-1 (12 overs)

Birmingham Bears are going to reach the quarter-finals at a canter and knock out Lancashire in the process. They're flying along at over nine runs per over chasing 164. Dominic Sibley (33*) and Adam Hose (32*) are both going well while Lancashire are making the ball look like a bar of soap in the outfield.

Just 49 runs from 48 needs for the Bears.

  3. Northeast falls to give Surrey hopepublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Kent 80-2 (10.2 overs) Surrey 154-9

Surrey keep their chances of a win just about alive at Canterbury as Stuart Meaker dismisses Kent captain Sam Northeast.

Northeast (19) had been looking to get on with it, but mistimes a shot to Sam Curran.

Remember that the winner of this one definitely makes the quarter-finals.

  4. wicket

WICKET Zaidi (c sub b Beer) 3published at 21:10 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Sussex 172-4 (20 overs) v Essex 49-5 (7.1 overs)

Another one falls for Essex and their thin hopes of reaching the quarter-finals are almost gone.

Ashar Zaidi tries to go big against his former club, but only manages to pick out sub fielder Phil Salt off Will Beer on the deep square boundary.

  5. Patel taking the attack to the Foxespublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Notts 87-3 (9 overs) v Leicestershire 203-5 (20 overs)

I said Leicestershire were going well but Samit Patel is causing problems. He's up to 37 from just 16 balls as Notts chase 204 to win with two sixes off Callum Parkinson's latest over.

Samit is being supported by Brendan Taylor while Cameron Delport is on for a bowl after his century earlier.

  6. Somerset well on toppublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Hampshire 59-5 (9 overs) v Somerset 189-3

Looking very good for Somerset at the Ageas Bowl in their bid to squeeze into the quarter-finals.

Tom Alsop is the fifth Hampshire wicket to fall and the hosts are struggling in their chase of 190.

Looks like they'll miss out on the chance of a home quarter-final.

  7. dropped catch

Parkinson drops Sibleypublished at 21:05 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Lancashire 163-4 (20 overs) v Birmingham 92-1 (10 overs)

Groans all around Old Trafford as Matt Parkinson drops Dominic Sibley in the outfield. Lancashire's hopes are looking faint because of Derbyshire and Leicestershire's progress but now they've put down a catch. That will not help. Birmingham Bears, looking for a win to guarantee their quarter-final place, are racing along.

    72 from 60 balls needed.

  8. wicket

WICKET Foster (c Brown b Jordan) 2published at 21:02 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Sussex 172-4 (20 overs) v Essex 45-4 (5.2 overs)

Essex's bid to try and up their net run-rate and reach 173 as quick as possible is back-firing.

James Foster is the latest Eagles batsman to come and go quickly as he edges a pull shot behind to Ben Brown off Chris Jordan.

  9. Denly continues after Bell-Drummond losspublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Kent 64-1 (7.4 overs) v Surrey 154-9

Kent may have lost Daniel Bell-Drummond for 22 in their pursuit of 155 against Surrey, but Joe Denly is still finding the boundary in his absence.

The right-hander has 32 from 25 balls and the Spitfires are looking well set to make it to the last eight.

  10. Derbyshire heading for last eightpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Derbyshire 146-8 (20 overs) v Worcestershire 42-5 (7 overs)

Brilliant bowling from Derbyshire. They've knocked over the Worcestershire top five and have one foot in the quarter-finals. South African Hardus Viljoen has two wickets, with one each for Wayne Madsen, Imran Tahir and Ben Cotton.

It is going to take something special for Worcestershire - who cannot qualify remember - to deny the Falcons from here.

Worcestershire require 105 runs with five wickets and 13 overs remaining.

  11. Dawson falls for Hampshirepublished at 20:58 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Hampshire 46-4 (6.5 overs) v Somerset 189-3

Hampshire's hopes of getting the win they need for a home quarter-final are drifiting away.

England all-rounder Liam Dawson is the fourth man to be dismissed for the hosts as Tim Groenewald bowls him for just four.

  12. wicket

WICKET Bopara (c Brown b Wiese) 6published at 20:55 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Sussex 172-4 (20 overs) v Essex 33-3 (3.5 overs)

Two wickets in the space of four balls for Sussex and David Wiese.

Essex in trouble early on as Ravi Bopara takes a big swing and edges behind to Ben Brown with the wicketkeeping gloves on. The target of 173 looking a long way away for the Eagles.

  13. wicket

WICKET Lawrence (c Evans b Wiese) 16published at 20:52 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Sussex 172-4 v Essex 27-2 (3.1 overs)

Daniel Lawrence was looking like a man on a mission for Essex with a few early boundaries, but the opener goes for one big shot too many off David Wiese.

He mistimes his drive into the hands of Laurie Evans at point.

  14. wicket

WICKET Pollock (c Livingstone b McLaren) 49published at 20:51 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Lancashire 163-4 (20 overs) v Birmingham 61-1 (5.3 overs)

Back-to-back sixes at the start of the sixth over, both of them to Ed Pollock.

But he goes next ball! The opener hits straight to Liam Livingstone at extra cover.

Lancashire needed that but take nothing away from 22-year-old Pollock. 49 from just 24 balls.

Warwickshire require just 103 runs with 14.3 overs remaining.

  15. Middlesex continue to strugglepublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Glamorgan v Middlesex 37-5 (6.2 overs)

The nightmare continues for Middlesex in Cardiff.

Glamorgan now have five wickets in the rain-reduced affair - 14 overs a side remember as it stands.

A win for the hosts sees them top the South Group and secure a home quarter-final.

  16. Denly and Bell-Drummond on firepublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Kent 36-0 (4.1 overs) v Surrey 154-9

Joe Denly and Daniel Bell-Drummond set a new record for an opening wicket stand in T20 last night against Essex and they've made another strong start tonight.

Kent need 155 and they know they will be in the quarter-finals for sure, possibly even at home as other games currently stand.

  17. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Northants v Durham 208-3 (20 overs)

    More rain in Northampton.

Things really are not going the hosts' way. Their run-chase is delayed with a victory a must.

  18. Calculators ready?published at 20:46 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

So, we're now well into the second half of tonight's final group games (apart from the delayed start in Cardiff).

Still lots of permutations around who may or may not get into the quarter-finals.

We may have to do some mathematics a bit later if sides end up level on points, but we'll keep you posted.

  19. Hales falls earlypublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Notts 24-1 (3 overs) v Leicestershire 203-5 (20 overs)

Big breakthrough for Leicestershire at Trent Bridge.

Alex Hales goes for a quick-fire 17 as Notts Outlaws chase 204 to win. The hosts are already through but Leicestershire Foxes are very much in need of the two points.

  20. wicket

WICKET Chopra (c Garton b Briggs) 3published at 20:43 British Summer Time 18 August 2017

    Sussex 172-4 v Essex 3-1 (0.5 overs)

Poor start for Essex as they chase 173 to beat Sussex at Hove and potentially squeak into the quarter-finals.

Varun Chopra horrible mistimes a slog sweep off Danny Briggs down to the waiting hands of George Garton on the deep mid-wicket boundary.
