I think England took the first session, a few deliveries were used up early on but once Tammy Beaumont was set, she worked the spinners around nicely and she'll be disappointed with the manner in which she got out.

Heather Knight looked at ease from ball one, she had to face a lot of spin early on but looked very fluent. It was almost a bonus wicket for Australia getting her out. But Australia have got themselves back into the game - and it'll be interesting seeing what happens after dinner!

If you're not familiar with the way the Aussies flip-flop intervals in day-night Tests, there is now a 40-minute break between the second and third sessions.

Elwiss is very much playing for dinner here - offering no stroke to a couple from Schutt outside off stump. But with Healy up to the stumps, there's not much she can do when Schutt fires one down the leg side and England scamper a couple of byes.

And with Elwiss on 11 from 53 balls, and Sciver on five from 21, that's "dinner".

    Elwiss 11, Sciver 5

Jonassen has been plugging away for most of the afternoon, with just one wicket to her name, and once again Sciver can't beat the infield. With a Jonassen maiden over taking not much more than about two minutes, we'll have time for one more before the interval.

  5. Eng 155-3published at 07:47 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Schutt 12-6-17-0

Wellington gives way at the Northern End so Megan Schutt can charge in for an over or two before the interval. As before, Schutt's line and length is exemplary, and that's another maiden over.

  6. Not outpublished at 07:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Eng 155-3

Although she didn't run her bat in, in the traditional manner, Elwiss got her bat down just in time to ensure she's not the fourth England wicket to fall.

Sciver aims a powerful blast through the covers but hits it straight to a fielder.

We're about 10 minutes from "dinner", which means a 40-minute break and then that treacherous "twilight" spell while the lights take effect. Elwiss sweeps and sets off for a single, the throw from backward square leg breaks the stumps at the bowler's end, they're going to have a look...

  8. Eng 154-3published at 07:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Elwiss 10, Sciver 5

Nat Sciver is off the mark, sweeping Wellington for four, though Isa Guha on TMS thinks it was more like a Sachin Tendulkar-like "canoeing" shot, bringing the blade of the bat up and down. Another sweep just brings a single, while a clever tip-and-run single brings Elwiss into double figures.

Elwiss cuts and misses, that stayed a little low. A maiden from the wily Jonassen.

This is where England will be rueing the fact they don't have two set batters in, as Australia are going to come in hard at them after dinner with Schutt and Perry under the lights.

Yet again, an over just yields one single to Georgia Elwiss. She has nine from 30 balls, Sciver is yet to score from eight, and England have slowed right down.

    Elwiss 8, Sciver 0

Jonassen races through another over - the 62nd Australia have bowled today - as Elwiss moves on to six. How those two wickets have changed the game - it only seems a few minutes ago that Beaumont and Knight were scoring freely and Australia were looking like they were running out of ideas.

  15. Eng 146-3published at 07:30 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Wellington 10-0-32-1

Elwiss adds a single, Sciver confidently smothers the spin from Wellington.

I've just thought - if Amanda-Jade Wellington had scored 111 on 21 October, it would be Wellington, on Nelson, on Trafalgar Day.

I'll get my coat. (It's 20 minutes until "dinner").

  16. Eng 145-3published at 07:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

Natalie Sciver is the new batter. The double spin option has worked - Jonassen has struck, while Wellington has joined fellow debutant Tahlia McGrath in picking up a maiden Test wicket.

From the reaction of Heather Knight - and also from the reaction of Jess Jonassen, who wasn't appealing that strongly, it looked as though it was going down the leg side.

It looked like it was near the line of the leg stump - it certainly looked like it was going to hit the stumps, but did it pitch in line? There's no DRS, and she's on her way. A big breakthrough, as Knight was in compelling form.

WICKETpublished at 07:23 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Knight lbw b Jonassen 62 (Eng 145-3)

Gone! Just when she looked on course for another big score, Knight - who had swept successfully all day - misses with a sweep shot, is hit on the pad and the umpire slowly raises his finger. Knight didn't look happy with the call - but with no Decision Review System in place for this Test, there's not much she can do about it. The replay would be interesting to watch.

  20. Eng 145-2published at 07:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017

    Knight 62, Elwiss 6

Another tidy over from young leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington - three singles are added to the score.
