Spin from both ends means Australia are speeding through these overs. Jonassen, spinning the ball from hand to hand between deliveries, keeps Elwiss tied down for a maiden over.

07:17 GMT 9 November 2017The floodlights are on at the North Sydney Oval - not the brightest that the TMS crew have ever seen, but they won't really come into effect for at least an hour, when the final session is under way from 08:30 GMT.
Wellington, buoyed by that maiden Test wicket, concedes another four to another fluent sweep from Heather Knight.
Adelaide update: CA XI five downpublished at 07:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017
07:11 GMT 9 November 2017England have taken a fifth Cricket Australia XI wicket at Adelaide, a second for Chris Woakes - but are being held up by the sixth-wicket pair who have the hosts at 86-5 in reply to England's 293.

07:10 GMT 9 November 2017Knight 54, Elwiss 4
It's still a balmy, sunny day at the North Sydney Oval - so somewhat surprisingly, Elwiss is wearing a sleeveless sweater. Charles Dagnall and Charlotte Edwards on TMS feel Australia are missing a trick until they belatedly bring in a helmeted short leg to crowd out the new batter. But Elwiss manages to get off the mark with an aerial sweep which flies over that short-leg fielder and away for four.

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match SpecialI'm quite surprised to see Georgia Elwiss coming in now. I might have opted for Nat Sciver or Sarah Taylor. It's not easy for Georgia as she's only had those two innings in the warm-up game. But I guess her and Jenny Gunn are similar cricketers, they've gone with the extra batter although I might have liked to have seen an extra bowler - possibly Kate Cross, or even Beth Langston who's not on the tour. With respect to Georgia, she's not a front-line bowler, though she'll do a job in the middle overs.

07:07 GMT 9 November 2017Georgia Elwiss is the new batter for England - she's had an interesting career, having somewhat metamorphosed from a seamer who could bat into a batter who bowls some part-time seam. Knight sees out the rest of the over.

07:03 GMT 9 November 2017Beaumont c Blackwell b Wellington 71 (Eng 129-2)
Australia hit back in style - leg-spinner Wellington entices Beaumont to nibble at one outside off stump, hanging her bat out quite far, and Alex Blackwell snaffles it at slip.

Jonassen takes her cap after her 14th wicketless over - it's not been a day to remember for Australia.
Something to listen out for a little later - TMS will be joined by injured Australia captain Meg Lanning during the "dinner" interval (which is scheduled to run from 07:50-08:30 GMT).
50 for Heather Knightpublished at 06:59 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2017
06:59 GMT 9 November 2017Eng 124-1
Another accomplished lap-sweep brings Heather Knight the single she needs for her fifty, from 87 balls. She's only passed 50 once before in Tests, when she went on to score 157 in the Test at Wormsley in 2013.

06:58 GMT 9 November 2017Post-drinks, Australia turn back to their debutant leg-spinner Amanda-Jade Wellington. There's a token slip fielder, but no-one else in catching positions as England continue to pick off the singles.

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match SpecialIt's also a test for the batters - we've had 50 overs, and Tammy Beaumont has probably never batted for more than 50 overs before.

BBC Test Match SpecialThe Australian fielders won't have spent many days in the dirt like this. This is when mental and physical fatigue are tested.

Heather Knight is now creeping up towards her own half-century - a single means she's two away. And now has time to think about it while the players take drinks.

England have certainly got a shift on in the hour or so since "tea" - remember, in the way these intervals are arranged, we'll play until 07:50 GMT when there's a 40-minute "dinner" break before the final session.
More exquisite timing from Tammy Beaumont, guiding her ninth boundary through the covers, rather denting Megan Schutt's otherwise exemplary bowling figures.

06:46 GMT 9 November 2017Rachael Haynes shuffles her bowlers around again - with Jess Jonassen replacing rookie McGrath. There were times during the World Cup when Australia were left rather exposed by their lack of a sixth bowling option, and Haynes has rotated her five bowlers today without much success. Three singles from Jonassen's over.

Knight does well to defend a slower ball from Schutt, while the Aussie pace bowler has an lbw appeal turned down with another ball which looked like it was whistling down leg. And Knight increases the pain for the hosts with a well-timed four off her legs - she's only four away from 50.
