  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5.3 overs

Mooney run out (Gunn direct hit) 17 (Aus 45-1)

Thankfully the no-ball doesn't cost England more than a couple of runs, as Mooney pushes ot mid-off and the dead-eyed Jenny Gunn throws down the stumps at the bowler's end.

  2. dropped catch

    Aus 43-0

Mooney comes down the track to Danielle Hazell, she's caught and bowled first ball... or is she? It's a front-foot no-ball, so it's a free hit.

"That's criminal for a spinner to bowl a front-foot no-ball. They only bowl off five paces," fumes Charlotte Edwards on TMS. And I entirely agree!

There's two types of howler the umpires have had. We've seen a couple of stone-dead lbws turned down today. Of course umpires are human and we don't have DRS in this series, but if the games are on television, there's got to be some consistency. The ICC has to bring it in.

  4. Aus 42-0published at 5 overs

    Target 153

Now it's Mooney's turn to free her arms and hit over the bowler's head, lofting a second four over square leg and clubbing a third over long leg as Shrubsole takes some punishment.

  6. Aus 27-0published at 4 overs

    Mooney 7 (9 balls), Healy 18 (15 balls)

Mooney delicately dabs Ecclestone for a single via the keeper's knee, while Healy chips a single to Katherine Brunt patrolling the mid-wicket boundary - then lofts a four over mid-off. The deep cover is sent to long-off - so Healy dismissively hits the spinner for four over cover.

Given the start Australia made the other night, England will start to worry the longer they go without taking wickets.

  7. Aus 16-0published at 3 overs

    Target 153

Afte a wide from Shrubsole, Mooney picks up two with a swat over wide mid-on. The outfield remains quick.

The queue for the ice-cream stall is enormous. The children there have more patience than their parents.

  9. Aus 11-0published at 2 overs

    Mooney 2, Healy 9

Teenage left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone to take the second over - and after a Mooney single, Healy hits a four over long-off.

An interesting debate on TMS over Shrubsole - if it was only a "niggle" on Friday, when the series was on the line, should she have played in that game? And with two ultimately dead rubbers to come, if it was a more serious injury on Friday, should she be playing in this one?

  10. Aus 5-0published at 1 over

    Target 153

Isa Guha called it on TMS - Anya Shrubsole is going to take the first over for England. Left-hander Beth Mooney is off the mark with a single, bringing right-hander Alyssa Healy on strike. Healy flicks one delicately down the leg side and that's four. Healy even playfully signals it herself - shades of Tony Greig signalling his own fours in order to wind Dennis Lillee up?!

England were in a position where they could have got 165+ - the wicket wouldn't have changed much, and I expect the Australians to enjoy this, having played here in domestic cricket. Batters love it.

I really like women's T20 because they get through their overs so quickly. 153 is the target for Australia.

Although they've got a powerful batting line-up, Australia will want someone to bat through the way that Beth Mooney did the other day. England will have to get used to the left-hand/right-hand combination. I'd open with Anya Shrubsole, and think about a spinner for the second over - Sophie Ecclestone or Danielle Hazell, depending on who's facing.

Australia seamer Sarah Aley on TMS: "We think that's about par, definitely something our batting can chase down. It's not exactly a bowler's paradise - as we saw from Katherine Brunt, it's quite easy to clear the boundary if you get a good swing."

England's Danielle Wyatt on TMS: "It was nice to get promoted up the order with only two fielders out, it's a batter's dream. We've got a good score on the board, we're happy with 150 and hopefully we can defend it."

England got off to a brilliant start, Danni Wyatt opening was a good move, but it was a brilliant bit of bowling by Megan Schutt at the end, only going for four runs off the final over. Perfect execution of yorkers at the death.

  20. Eng 152-6published at 20 overs

Brunt steps across to the off side and smears a single to square leg. 150 up. Gunn swings the last ball to long-off, Brunt set off nice and early and they complete a well-run two.
