England spinner Danielle Hazell on TMS: "It's unfortunate to lose Sarah at this point, but we've got a lot of firepower down the order and hopefully we can push on. Anything 150 plus will be a good score."

  2. Eng 90-3published at 13 overs

    Sciver 22, Brunt 3

Still no sign of captain Heather Knight, as it's pace spearhead Katherine Brunt in at number five again, and she's off the mark with a characteristically powerful shot through the covers for two.

This is frustrating for England, just when they get a partnership going they lose a wicket.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.1 overs

Taylor run out (Kimmince direct hit) 30 (Eng 85-3)

Great fielding, awful running - Taylor hits the ball to backward point, sets off for a run anyway, and is run out by yards as Delissa Kimmince's throw breaks the stumps at the bowler's end. On the replay, Taylor is quite literally not in the picture.

  6. Eng 85-2published at 12 overs

    Taylor 30, Sciver 20

A seventh bowler for Australia - another right-arm seamer, Sarah Aley, and her first ball is a full toss which is so high that it's called as a no-ball - bowl another one of those, and she'll be removed from the attack. So England have a free hit, which Sciver drills to mid-wicket for one. Some busy batting brings more ones and twos, while Aley fires an awful wide down the leg side so it's an expensive over (and a long one with the no-ball and wide).

If Sarah Taylor is hitting balls like that over extra cover, we're in for a treat today.

  8. Eng 75-2published at 11 overs

    Taylor 29 (21 balls), Sciver 14 (13)

Time for some right-arm medium pace from Delissa Kimmince, Australia's sixth bowler - her first ball is a juicy pie of a full toss which Taylor works down to fine leg for one. A quick single has England dicing with death when the ball is hit straight to Rachael Haynes - but the Aussie skipper's throw is just wide.

And Taylor makes her pay, stepping across to the off side to scoop a four over the keeper's left shoulder, and whacking four more over extra cover.

Not a bad start, these two have been working the ball around well but they need to start picking up boundaries again. They want 160-170 minimum.

  10. Eng 63-2published at 10 overs

Australia are through 10 overs in barely more than half-an-hour - "a fast game's a good game", as the saying goes - as Sciver aims a powerful blast at Gardner but Ellyse Perry cuts it off on the mid-wicket fence for two. A chip over square leg is fumbled by Molly Strano - and she inadvertently touches the rope with her foot as she slips over, so that's four. An entertaining first quarter of this game.

I loved the extra bounce here in Australia - I sometimes struggled on slower pitches

  12. Eng 53-2published at 9 overs

    Taylor 17 (15 balls, Sciver 4 (7 balls)

It's off-spin from both ends as Molly Strano returns, brushing her dark hair out of her eyes, and she keeps it tight, just three singles from the over.

The umpire got into a good position there to judge the run-out.

Charles Dagnall adds: They've had an interesting series, the umpires. And let's leave it at that!

  14. Eng 50-2published at 8 overs

Young off-spinner Ashleigh Gardner into the attack, Taylor steers her beautifully through mid-wicket for four - best shot of the day so far. Gardner bowls round the wicket, Sciver aims a reverse sweep, it flies off an edge and she has to scamper to make her ground. 50 up.

  15. Eng 42-2published at 7 overs

Sciver is off the mark with a single - while a replay of the Beaumont lbw shows how she was hit on the armpit as she tried to stretch down the wicket.

That's a brilliant change of pace from Jonassen, she held back on the revs and Beaumont was done in the flight.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.3 overs

    Beaumont lbw b Jonassen 9 (Eng 40-2)

Gone! Two wickets for Jonassen as Tammy Beaumont attempts to heave to leg, and is trapped in front by the wily left-arm spinner. Natalie Sciver replaces her.

England seamer Anya Shrubsole on TMS: "It's gone pretty well so far, it looks a good track and we're happy with the powerplay. You always want to play positively in T20 and Danni did that for us."

  19. Eng 38-1published at 6 overs

Sarah Taylor with her first unorthodox shot of the day, reverse-flicking Schutt for four past the keeper.

I've just seen Ellyse Perry go over to Haynes and suggest she should be at mid-off, as that's where virtually every ball has gone from the spinners. And you need your best fielders in the best positions, even if it means running up and down for 20 overs.
