Haynes was standing on the circle and had to dive forward. That was an absolutely brilliant catch. That is a big wicket for Australia.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.1 overs

    Taylor c Haynes b Jonassen 5 (Eng 16-2)

    Another one gone!

Jess Jonassen takes the pace off the ball, Sarah Taylo looks to drive and gets the shot all wrong. Haynes then takes a fine catch, running forward and then throwing herself down to get both hands underneath a low offering. That's lovely stuff from Australia.

  3. 'England might get close'published at 09:48 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2017

Sometimes situations like this can be good because you have no choice but to go hard, and you surprise yourself with what you can do. England might get close.

  4. Eng 16-1published at 2 overs

    Target 179

Here's Megan Schutt, and Sarah Taylor times the absolute pants off a drive to pick up a boundary. That's lovely stuff from the England batter - a flick of the wrist and a push goes whizzing past the bowler and into the ropes. Beth Mooney, looking understandably tired, then throws herself into a diving stop in the covers. Danni Wyatt rounds off the over with a lofted drive that goes racing down the ground. A profitable over for England.

It was the right shot, she just didn't quite execute it. It's been a disappointing T20 series from Tammy Beaumont. She has really struggled.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1 over

    Beaumont c Gardner b Jonassen 1 (Eng 3-1)

    Gone in the first over!

Tammy Beaumont hasn't been in the best nick during the T20s and she's been caught out trying to hurry things along. Jonassen tossed the ball up a little bit more, Beaumont misjudged it and slapped it straight at Ashleigh Gardner.

    Cheers, Jack. A solid effort.

Here's a cheerful stat for England as they prepare to recover from that Mooney mauling. It'll be Danni Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont to open for England.

Right, England are gearing up to try and chase down this ominous total.

That's my cue to swing things back over to Amy Lofthouse, who will take you through the remainder of the game.

    Cheers!

    "See ball, hit ball."

That's how Beth Mooney described her batting approach in a quick interview as she walked off the pitch.

There was more to it than that - it was a 360-degree masterclass in ball striking.

Mooney hit 19 fours in that century - the most by a man or woman in a Twenty20 international innings. Superb.

  10. England need 179 runs to win and draw the Ashespublished at 09:31 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2017

Dearie me, what a terrific knock from Beth Mooney. Brutal at times, deft at others - a perfect Twenty20 innings.

And all from a player who was left out of the ODIs - that's quite a message to send to the selectors, bettering her unbeaten 86 from the first Twenty20.

England look bereft but must somehow rally to try and chase 179 to win and draw the Ashes 8-8.

It's going to take a special innings or two for them to even stand a chance.

We have been thoroughly entertained. A wonderful, wonderful exhibition from Beth Mooney.

Of course, the game is only halfway done, and it is still a belter of a pitch.

  12. Aus 178-2published at 20 overs

    Mooney

    114444.

Grim reading for England and Anya Shrubshole as Beth Mooney makes it four consecutive fours to end an imposing innings.

The fifth ball of the over is sliced away just wide of Fran Wilson at point.

The final ball sees Mooney give herself room to nail it through deep extra cover.

She finishes on 117 not out - the second highest women's Twenty20 international score after compatriot Meg Lanning's 126.

England look bedraggled in the outfield.

  14. Aus 170-2published at 19.4 overs

Mooney makes room and clatters another boundary over cover.

Next up is even better, as she brings out the paddle to bring up another four.

  15. Aus 160-2published at 19 overs

And if Mooney wasn't doling out enough punishment to England, the visitors also have to deal with Ellyse Perry, who sweeps the last ball of the over away for four.

A fabulous hundred from Beth Mooney. A staggering knock that has put Australia in pole position.

    Majestic.

A truly stellar knock from Beth Mooney, shots all round the ground and exception timing and power.

She reaches her first Twenty20 century by dropping and sprinting through for a single.

Just the second Australian to achieve the feat after injured regular captain Meg Lanning.

  18. Aus 155-2published at 18.4 overs

Dani Hazell's fumble allows Ellyse Perry to jog through and return Beth Mooney to the strike.

Is this it? No, a cut shot only brings a single to move the opener to 99.

Perry scrambles a couple before a firm drive down the ground for a single.

Mooney on strike and on 99...

  19. 'A wonderful knock'published at 09:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2017

There's nowhere England can bowl to Beth Mooney at the moment. This is a wonderful T20 knock. Fabulous timing and power.

  20. Aus 150-2published at 18 overs

    Mooney 98, Perry 13

Mooney smashes Gunn away to the square leg boundary before picking up a single to move to 96.

Perry in on the act, slicing away between point and third man to the fence.

Another Perry single returns Mooney to the strike just one boundary away from a century...

She settles for a couple to take the Aussies to 150.
