Apparently there is a month's worth of rain forecast for Sunday. Although that's barely a puddle in Perth.

  2. Aus 5-0published at 4 overs

    Bancroft 3, Warner 2

As I mentioned, David Warner averages 89.22 at the Waca. He has scored three centuries here and made 112 against England in the last Test in 2013.

Cameron Bancroft shoves a single away off Stuart Broad to put Warner on strike. Tempt him and he'll flash at one soon enough, right?

Warner is a model of restraint though in that over, pinching a couple of quick singles to boot.

This is the 100th Test that Stuart Broad and James Anderson have played together.

England have let Australia off the hook. They should be getting 500 with that platform. But with a tail as long as England's...

Well, I for one am delighted to hear that. You can't steal a sausage roll can you? Low.

In the interests of fairness, if anyone wants to send any baked goods of any kind to us, you're more than welcome. Label them up c/o Tom Rostance at:

    Quay House

    Salford Quays

    Salford M50 2QH

I'll see that they are shared about. That's a beauty from James Anderson, perfect length and angled across David Warner. Plays and misses.

    Two maidens in a row.

If you were with us yesterday, you'll know that there was sausage roll controversy in the media centre. Tory Wiklund, a self-described 'Pom in Perth', has come to our rescue. These sausage rolls have arrived in the TMS box, accompanied by a lovely letter. The sausage rolls are delicious, too.

Moeen Ali's dismissal was meek. He's getting out more meekly each innings. He had watched the entire innings, batted in the net for three days - he knows it's going to be bouncy. He looked half asleep.

  8. Aus 1-0published at 2 overs

Stuart Broad fires one down the leg side, looks quick enough. Broad may have been planning a biggish lunch and maybe even a snooze with a view to bowling much later on at one stage this morning.

Instead he's got a lengthy workload ahead of him. He fires in a bouncer and it only just reaches Jonny Bairstow. No carry at all.

Broad has a quizzical look on his face. Hit a crack? The next ball hits Bairstow's gloves at throat height. Interesting.

It’s a bit harsh to call that a collapse. It was more like a lack of wag from a lazy dog.

  10. How the collapse unfoldedpublished at 05:25 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2017

Six wickets, 35 runs, 51 balls, 48 minutes. Here's how England went from 368-4 to 403 all out.

    • 03:52: Dawid Malan drives at Nathan Lyon and sub fielder Peter Handscomb takes a fine, diving catch to dismiss him for 140.
    • 03:56: Pat Cummins bounces Moeen Ali, who fends at ball and sends a simple catch to slip. He falls for a duck.
    • 04:14: Chris Woakes, on 8, sends a Josh Hazlewood delivery down to Pat Cummins in the deep.
    • 04:18: Centurion Jonny Bairstow gets an inside edge on a full and straight delivery from Mitch Starc and his middle stump is knocked out of the ground.
    • 04:27: Craig Overton works a short ball straight to Cameron Bancroft at short leg.
    • 04:40: Mitch Starc take his fourth wicket as Stuart Broad loops up another catch to short leg.

You can have a look at the scorecard here.

With the exception of three players (Malan, Bairstow, Stoneman), England should be hanging their collective heads in utter shame. What a disgrace. When are they going to man up, earn their considerable salaries and SHOW SOME BOTTLE...??

Cameron Bancroft is squared up by a nice ball from Anderson but the opener squirts the ball into the off side and takes a single.

David Warner averages 89 in Tests at the Waca. Bradman-esque. Anderson goes straight to the left-hander. No dramas.

There were 48 minutes between Dawid Malan's dismissal and Stuart Broad's. Australia didn't even bowl particularly well this morning.

England's lower order had the resistance of a chocolate teapot.

Just a shocker on the coffee front this morning. Four eggs? And a much-needed glass of claret after that collapse...
