Quite a view of Sydney from the back of the Noble Stand.

England don't turn to Cook's ropey dobbers yet - Tom Curran will continue.
Shaun Marsh tucks it square for a couple, then sees a on drive well stopped by a diving Stuart Broad, who keeps it to one.

The Mason Crane no-ball decision was a joke. When his foot touched down, if you draw an imaginary line, there was 2-3mm behind the line. The third umpire took one cursory look at it and decided it was a no-ball. A joke of a decision.
Khawaja 156, S Marsh 27
Joe Root shrugs off the disappointment of being denied his 18th Test wicket to send down another tidy over, just a couple of singles off it.
Here is that wicket that wasn't - Shaun Marsh clearly didn't hit it.
Not sure why he needed even a brief conference to decide whether to review it.

That's a terrible bit of fielding. The ball had stopped rolling before he started his slide.

Marsh flicks Curran round the corner and substitute fielder Ben Foakes is after it...
...and his slide carries the ball into the rope.
That's also the fifty partnership for Khawaja and Marsh. Not the best five minutes for England.
It was indeed a delicious ball from Root, spinning away and past the outside edge. Crucially, it was very much past the outside edge and not via it into Bairstow's gloves.

It was a lovely ball from Root - it just turned too much.
There must have been a noise to convince umpire Dharmasena into giving that out.
Because there is nothing on Hot Spot or snicko to suggest it got anywhere really near Marsh's bat.
The third umpire duly overturns the decision.

Unless it's flicked a bit of glove I can't see how that's out.
Erm, there looks to be daylight between bat and ball...

Well, it's not a no-ball...
Root gets one past Marsh's prod. Oh has the Aussie hit it?
Baristow and Root go up and it's given! Marsh reviews...

Just one slip and a gully in for Curran as he's driven away through the covers by Marsh - but the connection is too good and runs straight to the man in the deep, meaning no run is available.
Curran then sends down a change-up and Marsh wafts over the top of it.
A wide one to finish and Marsh does cut it away square for one.

It means we're having a dull day's play - carry on!
