Cheers Jack. The players are just making their way back out to the middle. Usman Khawaja is still there on 166 - he's been at the crease for 368 minutes and counting - and he's got Shaun Marsh, on 54, for company.

The man I feel most sorry for is Mark Stoneman. With the number of times that Mason Crane has been belted into the leg side today, Stoneman is risking his life at bat-pad. I hope he's got decent insurance.

How big will the first-innings deficit be for England here?

I must admit that since the toss, whenever there has been talk of how picking two spinners will play into England's hands bowling last, I've thought, "That's assuming England are the ones bowling last here."

Australia look really in the mood to bat just once at Sydney.

Australia's batsmen have shown a lot of mental courage. England's batsmen haven't.

Australia scored 88 runs for the loss of no wicket in that session.

Joe Root thought he had Shaun Marsh caught behind - it was given out but the Aussie reviewed and DRS showed he hadn't edged it at all.

Apart from that, England really have not looked like taking a wicket.

Crane drags it down but it keeps low and Khawaja does well to clip it away to leg for a single.

Marsh defends the next few, before flicking the last ball before the interval away to mid-wicket for one more.

That's tea and England can drag their weary bodies off the baking SCG field.

Mason Crane to bowl the last over before tea.

Can anything of note please happen?

Another fine innings from Shaun Marsh, who has played the roles of ship-steadier, rebuilder and accumulator very well in this series.

Make that back-to-back boundaries for Shaun Marsh to bring up his fifty.

It's full and wide and Marsh batters a drive through point to the fence.

Excellent shot from Shaun Marsh, staying tall and glancing Anderson away to the third man boundary for four.

    That takes him onto 49...

England are just overrated and over-hyped. It’s been five years since they were a top international team.

Talking of the future - here is Mason Crane back into the attack.

The young leggie could do with doing something in the present to rouse a sleep, scorching SCG.

The 2019 series will be a belter. Australia are closer to winning in England than England winning in Australia.
