Andrew Lewin: Can we still win 'the series' under the Andrew Strauss points system?!
Need 150 runs from 150 balls
I can hear faint cries of a five down to one countdown in the crowd as the fans try to get a Mexican wave going. That's usually a hint the game has quietened down a little.
No success so far with the wave and no success for Tye on his return to the attack. Nice and straight in line though and just four added to the total.

It's the captain's gut feeling of who's going to get him a wicket - he's gone for Tye, who can bowl the change-ups that he's bowled in the Big Bash. Starc's only bowled four overs - I'd be tempted to bring him back because of the extra pace.
Andrew Tye is back. Can Australia's hat-trick specialist strike with the wicket Australia need?
Run rate 6.29
That is a fair point, Isaac. England needed batsmen to stick around during the Ashes not blitz quick runs.
Zampa drifts a little off target and bowls a wide for the first time after I gave him praise for his accuracy during his previous over. That and four more singles knocked into the deep means England take five from the over and pass 150 in the process.

Isaac Christopher: Not even two hours into our batting and already people advocating specialist limited-overs players for the long format! Move on.

We've seen Jason Roy play fantastic innings for England before, but at times like this you need to manoeuvre the ball around and keep your strike rate quite high as you move towards 100 - and he's done that quite well so far.
Roy 87, Root 37
England are quietly accumulating but that quick-fire start, reaching 50 in the first five overs, means an over or two when only three runs are scored is not too big an issue. The fact Steve Smith has turned back to Pat Cummins already is surely a sign the Australian captain knows he needs a wicket.
Root and Roy sprint to the opposite end and back to turn what looked like one into two. Perhaps getting a little twitchy at the lack of boundaries, Jason Roy goes for an upper cut but only manages to make contact with thin air.
Need 164 from 168 balls
Joe Root knocks off his legs again for yet another single off Adam Zampa. The leg-spinner has bowled pretty accurately so far, more so than Adil Rashid earlier but without the same wicket-taking threat.
Just three singles from the over.

Sean Bennett: This is good one-day cricket. Two years ago England would have remained in fifth gear and capitulated but taking it down to second now shows maturity and skill.
Roy 85, Root 33
Pat Cummins has terrorised England batsman all winter but Roy doesn't seem too worried about the rapid right-armer despite that streaky four a moment ago.
Roy shifts a leg out of the way and smacks Cummins high into the vacant leg side but the ball plugs in the outfield meaning only two runs. Still, Jason Roy is up to 85 from just 73 balls.
Straight away the extra pace brings a spring of life into this match. A bouncer from Cummins and Jason Roy can only scruffily fend away the ball. It deflects off his glove and just out of reach of Tim Paine behind the stumps and runs away for four.
Thanks Jack. A marathon effort during which England have been well on top.
Where do we see this one going from here? England look to be cruising but that run-rate is dropping a little.
Pat Cummins is back with ball in hand...
Roy 78, Root 32
Root shifts across his stumps to work Zampa into leg for one. Australia have done a decent job of drying up runs these last few overs. Can they convert this spell of pressure into wickets? Will England look to attack again soon?
Roy does unfurl a reverse sweep but can only get one for it.
And with that, I'll hand you over to Matt Henry for the rest of England's chase. Cheers.

Ben Thorpe: Surely it's worth giving Jason Roy a shot in Test matches?
Theo HV: This composed performance from England here is further evidence of the gap in class of their Test cricket team.
Need 179 more to win
Stoinis pegs Root back, until the number four gets forward to punch down the ground. Not enough on it to reach the fence but Root can scurry three.
Root then pulls away into leg for a single, before Roy misses out with a swivel shot.

Jason Roy's ability to rotate the strike has definitely improved as he gets more experience playing for England.
Target 305
Zampa is accurate once again, limiting England to just three off the over.
Roy and Root have added 59 runs since England had a bit of a wobble at 60-2.
They will look to take this as deep as possible, knowing the big hitting of Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler is to come.
Refreshments consumed and it will be Zampa to Roy...

I think this is the best I have ever seen Jason Roy play in an England shirt.
