  1. Close! NZ 42-1published at 5 overs

Bit-hitter Kane Williamson is the next man in for the home side and almost gets run out, scampering through for a dangerous single.

Wood was the man collecting the ball in his follow-through - he spins and has a shy at the stumps, but misses. Williamson was gone had the ball hit.

An excellent slower ball, an off-cutter. As it was a slower ball it deceived Munro and it was a good catch from Sam Billings. That is a big wicket as England will know how destructive Munro can be.

    Munro c Billings b Wood 11 (NZ 39-1)

    The first one falls.

Mark Wood bangs one into the track and it comes at Colin Munro slower than he thinks.

The left-hander tries to pull it away, but can only pick out Sam Billings at fine leg.

  4. NZ 33-0published at 4 over

A change for England as Chris Jordan takes the cueball for the first time.

It is a good start from the Barbados-born seamer, showing excellent pace with a bouncer that Colin Munro plays and misses at.

But Munro is not missing out this time, cracking the ball over the head of Adil Rashid at fine leg. The left-hander goes again...but it falls agonisingly short of Alex Hales on the boundary.

    Boundaries flowing for New Zealand.

David Willey attempts a slower ball, but Martin Guptill sees it coming and flays the ball away towards square.

And the next one hits the ropes too, much straighter down the pitch.

A good comeback from Willey, though, finishing the over with three dot balls.

England need to be careful or this pair could take the game away from them.

I can't tell you how good that shot is from Guptill - the timing and composure to ramp it over the keeper. It was obviously a delivery he was waiting for and he got his reward with a great shot.

  8. NZ 17-0published at 2 over

    Guptill 11, Munro 5

Poor start from Mark Wood. His first delivery is too full and Colin Munro creams a straight drive past the England bowler.

No problem with Wood's pace at the moment, touching the high end of 80mph, but he strays too far down the leg and Martin Guptill whips the ball away to the boundary, before arching back and flicking another four over wicketkeeper Jos Buttler's head.

New Zealand getting their eye in.

The ball seems to be going through OK. Martin Guptill, when he is firing, is one of the best batsmen in the world to watch.

  10. NZ 4-0published at 1 over

The 6ft 2in Martin Guptill off the mark straight away as he tickles the ball away to deep square leg for a couple.

Goodness me. Left-hander Colin Munro then comes charging down the pitch and David Willey's inswinging delivery misses the timber by a few millimeters. That was close.

The Westpac Stadium in Wellington is filling up nicely. A good start for England.
