    Wow, this is hugeeeeee!

Have some of that, Trent Boult.

Alex Hales lets loose and swings the first maximum deep into the stands on the leg side.

    England are motoring on nicely.

    Malan 2, Hales 19

"Barmy Army, Barmy Army," sing the pocket of fans inside the stadium. There aren't many in, so you can clearly pick them out.

    Alex Hale-storm incoming!

Another four, this time in the vacant deep mid-wicket area.

I fancy him to get a big score today.

Dawid Malan struck on the pad on the final ball, but NZ decide not to review it. Should they have done?

I know captains like to change up the bowling in T20, but Trent Boult was getting good shape. I wonder if he should have had one more over before they brought on Tim Southee. Is it too much chopping and changing?

  6. Eng 23-1published at 3 overs

    Target 197

Tim Southee got a wicket with his first ball of the innings and is being helped by his team-mates and Colin de Grandhomme dives low to his left to save a certain boundary.

England will be pinning their hopes on Alex Hales and he is taking the initiative, just waiting for the wider delivery and creaming it away for four.

And another! Straight this time, a good start for the opener.

Jason Roy shakes his head as he walks off, understandably not happy.

Dawid Malan the next man in.

    Jason Roy's poor run continues.

The England man tries to rock back and club one over the infield, but can only find Trent Boult at mid-on.

  11. Eng 14-0published at 2 overs

    Target 197

Big man Alex Hales once smacked 80* for England on this ground in a brilliant 10-wicket victory and with the swish of the big man's bat, gets his first boundary towards deep point.

    Six off it.

Spin straight away for New Zealand.

Left-arm slinger Mitchell Santner the man for Alex Hales to deal with.

Good pace from Boult but Roy finished with a flourish - two boundaries in a row.

  15. Eng 8-0published at 1 over

    Target 197

Oof, a blistering start from Trent Boult with a hefty bouncer that almost catches Jason Roy on the chin.

The England opener does well to keep it off his grill though.

Three dots to begin with, before Roy cracks back-to-back boundaries on both sides.

I wouldn't be too worried if I was England - the boundaries are short.

Here we go then, Trent Boult to Jason Roy.

    Let's go.

Chris Jordan leaped up on the boundary, clasped the ball in one hand, landed and managed to stay inside the rope.

It was wonderful athleticism - one in an array of brilliant catches during Jordan's career.

Adil Rashid removed Colin de Grandhomme for a golden duck...

...but only thanks to the brilliance of Chris Jordan.

The all-rounder was on the boundary and took a stunning catch, leaping high into the Wellington sky to pluck the ball out of the air.

He even managed to balance himself and stay on the pitch without touching the rope.

England bowled poorly for their high standards, with the exception of Chris Jordan's 18th over.

Those two sixes in the last over were big for New Zealand. A few wides, dropped catches and too many full tosses, they mixed it up a little bit too much.
