Buttler will be frustrated but he went for the longest part of the stadium. He just wasn't able to get hold of it. I love it when Buttler plays his shots - but maybe he needed to realise he wasn't quite there.

    Buttler c Southee b Sodhi 2 (Eng 109-4)

Gone cheaply. Foolish stuff from Jos Buttler. England had already scored 12 in that over, but he tries to dance down the pitch. He doesn't get hold of it too well and Tim Southee gobbles it up at long-off.

We're talking 20, maybe 25 rows back for the Malan six.

He's such a wonderful timer of the ball.

Woof. What a cracking shot from Dawid Malan. He got it in the slot from Ish Sodhi and he punished the spinner - high over mid-wicket.

Next one goes to the boundary too, this time a well-executed reverse sweep. He plays them very well.

Ish Sodhi in for his third over.

A couple of singles to finish the over. England need 100 more runs for victory. It is going to be a tight finish.

Skipper Jos Buttler is the next man. He needs a score today.

Vince didn't give that full-on stretch. But it was an excellent bit of fielding - two steps and a throw off balance.

James Vince is short of the crease as he attempts a quick single, but Kane Williamson shows super sharp reflexes with a brilliant throw to dislodge the flashing bails.

My heart was in my mouth here - that would have been a beauty of a catch.

  13. Eng 95-2published at 10.2 overs

Finally, Dawid Malan gets one away to the boundary. He is fortunate though, as Mitchell Santner dives full length, gets a hand on it, but cannot collect.

Colin "The Wardrobe" de Grandhomme is into the attack for New Zealand.

    A gentle pace.

  15. Eng 90-2published at 10 overs

    Target 197

Dawid Malan is wasting quite a few deliveries for England, failing to get the ball away on a number of occasions. He is just not timing it.

Eleven off the over at the halfway stage.

That's trademark James Vince - over extra-cover for six, from the crease. That's extraordinary.

A big cheer from the crowd at the bails come off, but wicketkeeper Tim Seifert did not have the ball in his hands.

Wow-wee, what a shot from James Vince, stroking a juicy drive - a proper cricket shot - for six.

Just eight off that Ish Sodhi over, plus a wicket.

    England being checked a little.
