  1. Umpire reviewpublished at 8.4 overs

Santner slides it past Warner's bat and Seifert whips the bails off. Was Warner's foot back in time?

He tried to reverse sweep it but then tried to play a sort of flick to third man and got himself in a tangle. Warner looks confident he got back in time though.

Er, Australia have sent out Ashton Agar at three. Why not, I guess?

Very well judged catch by Chapman in the deep. He settled himself, kept his eyes level and head still. Generally, D'Arcy Short's shot selection was excellent.

    Short c Chapman b Munro 50 (Aus 72-1)

So it's 50 and done for D'Arcy Short.

He tries to lever Colin Munro back down the ground for six but can't time the stroke and Mark Chapman snaffles the catch.

Nice knock. He has timed it beautifully throughout his innings.

  7. 50 runs

50 for Shortpublished at 7.5 overs

The first is short and slow and Warner pulls it away. It should be stopped but the sliding Boult can only push the ball away over a slippy surface and into the boundary rope.

That's better fielding - the burly Colin de Grandhomme pulling off a superb one-handed stop at deep square leg.

Dearie me, from glory to misery as De Grandhomme allows a D'Arcy Short pull shot to go straight through his legs and away for four.

That's 50 off just 29 balls for the Aussie opener/

Colin Munro is coming on to bowl his right-arm dobbers.

Can he lure this Aussie pair into a mistake?

That is hit with extraordinary power - it nearly took De Grandhomme with it at extra cover.

  11. Aus 61-0published at 7 overs

    Need 90 more to win

Mitch Santner, the number one ranked bowler in international T20, is on after the rain delay.

That's not a best in the world delivery though, sliding wide and D'Arcy Short cracks it through the covers for four.

Decent response from the slow left-armer to finish with two dot balls.

The players are making their way back out.

The delay has fortunately not been long enough for Australia's target to be adjusted.

They need 96 more runs from 14 overs. New Zealand need a miracle.

I'm looking forward to the ODI series - New Zealand have been in good form and so have England. It should be a belter.

Although the rain has stopped with seemingly little damage done, we have got a delay here.

The main covers have been dragged off by the tractor but play is not back under way yet.

The ground staff are now walking out with some other tatty brown covers to drag around the outfield and mop up some of the surface water.

Elite international sport using some ragged cloth to deal with the elements. Lovely stuff.

David Warner is putting his helmet back on as he prepares to return to the field. The umpires are out there having a brief conference and consulting their watches.

    Never change, cricket.

A right palaver trying to get the cover off the tractor and on to the pitch and all for nothing as the rain ceases straight away.

Fortunately, play should be under way again shortly.
