  1. Aus 17-0published at 3 overs

Kiwi captain Kane Williamson continues his bowler rotation - Tim Southee is on to replace Trent Boult.

Short and Warner tuck the first two balls away for a single each. A slightly ugly heave across the line allows Short to scamper two through mid-wicket.

Chance! A crafty slower ball from Southee and Short miscues but the ball falls just short of the diving Williamson at mid-off.

  2. Aus 11-0published at 2 overs

    Target 151

Short responds to that bamboozling with a delicious guide through third man for four.

A single puts Warner on strike but he can only defend back to the bowler. A very good first over from Sodhi.

It would have hit the stumps but it did pitch outside leg.

  4. Not outpublished at 1.3 overs

Sodhi bamboozles Short with a wicked googly and hits the pads. Big appeal but not given. Looked like it may have pitched outside leg and New Zealand wisely opt against the review.

New Zealand often have slow left-armer Mitch Santner bowl the second over but they've turned to the leg-spin of Ish Sodhi here...

  6. Aus 6-0published at 1 over

    Target 151

Trent Boult strays just a touch short and David Warner is able to half pull half flick it through mid-wicket to the fence.

The next shot is uppish but safe enough for Warner to scurry through for two.

Boult finishes with three dots, the last bringing an appeal for lbw but that was sliding well down leg.

Cheers, Jamie. Not a vintage T20 final so far.

Can Trent Boult conjure something up and get the Aussie top order reeling?

    Let's find out...

The only element of concern for Australia is the injury to Chris Lynn. We await news on him, but will he be needed this evening in any case, given the might of Warner, Finch, Maxwell & co?

Will there be a flurry of wickets? Will Australia crumble facing a low total? It sounds unlikely, but here's Jack Skelton to tell you.

Ashton Agar and Marcus Stoinis bowled really well in tandem, grinding New Zealand down and then the breakthrough came.

Australia's Tye, who took 2-30, on Sky Sports: "I think 150 is below par. It should be a nice enough target for us."

  12. NZ 150-9published at 20 overs

An even figure of 150 for the Kiwis then. Taylor pinned on the helmet by the final delivery. He finishes on 43 from 38 balls.

    Sodhi b Tye 13 (NZ 148-9)

Sodhi departs, but instead of the usual trudge from the crease, he breaks into a sprightly jog back to the pavilion, not seen that before. I used to be too busy kicking the ground when I was out.

This final over is critical. If New Zealand have an explosive over, maybe get about 20 from it, then they maybe have a chance. They're still miles below par, mind.

What a start from Sodhi, he has launched it over long-on for the maximum. There is a scramble in the crowd, a section of orange vests but no one-handed catch and the cash remains on offer.

  17. NZ 140-8published at 19 overs

Taylor heaves Stoinis for two to long-on but then there is a swing and a miss at the last one. The Kiwis have got to Jimmy Neesham's 140 target, but how many more can they add from the remaining six deliveries, which will be bowled by Andrew Tye?

Goodness me that is an enormous strike.

    NZ 135-8published at 18.1 overs

Well it has taken a while but Taylor has found his touch with this one. It has gone many a mile over long-on for a mighty six, measured at 91m, fumbled in the crowd by a man wearing a black T-shirt who went at it with two hands. He has not been reading the rules of the game.

  20. NZ 129-8published at 18 overs

Taylor tries walking down the wicket but he can't find the big one as Richardson deceives him with some expertly executed slower balls. Just two singles from the over.
