A back foot punch from Azhar Ali meets a tumbling Stuart Broad at mid-on, before Wood straightens his line and gets the ball to burst through Azhar's defence.

He gets Haris Sohail to have a little poke at a delivery that hugs his off stump, before Haris whacks his bat down to keep a fuller delivery away from his pads.

Stuart Broad's evening work of 7-4-10-1 is done for the time being.

Pakistan are not really worried about runs, all they want to do is to survive. The idea is to not lose any more wickets.

Another optimistic appeal from England, as Mark Wood hits Azhar Ali well above the knee roll. Joe Root just turns away as Wood goes to ask him about the review.

A bouncer has Azhar bending his knees and whipping his head out of the way, before Wood responds with an 89mph delivery that Azhar can't help but fend loosely at. Lovely stuff from Wood.

I went downstairs to check on the temperature and it was a bit brisk - I didn't care for it much. I don't know if that will affect the swinging of the ball.

Stuart Broad, face burning bright red, is opting to come around the wicket to Haris Sohail.

He digs the ball in, getting it to rise awkwardly on the batsman, but Haris plonks his bat down to see off a maiden. The coats are being brought out for the umpires.

I don't think Wood is a bowler who will swing the ball but he hits the pitch hard and will look to bowl bouncers. He has two men on the boundary.

Mark Wood's bowling up in the late eighties, but Azhar Ali meets it with the full face of the bat.

He and Haris Sohail milk a few singles here and there to keep things ticking along.
