Zak in Burnley: Win-win situation for me being a British born Pakistani, although I do hope it goes down to the final session of day 5! I think it's worth a mention that most of the Pakistan team will be fasting which means no food or drink until sunset which makes their effort over the last few days extra special.

Hasan Ali goes short and Dom Bess plays it well, dropping his hands and lurking his head to the left as the ball goes fizzing through to Sarfraz.

Hasan bangs down a yorker to end the over, and Bess clatters his bat down to keep it out.

When you lose at home to a very young West Indies team, that was the sign things aren't quite right.

Some crunching drives on show, from both Jos Buttler and Dom Bess, but they're finding the fielders at the moment.

Bess rolls his wrists on a Mohammad Abbas delivery that just drifts onto his pads, before he and Buttler scamper another couple to end the over.

Ah. If you watch this and ignore the score, everything seems much better.

A leading edge flies towards gully from Jos Buttler's bat, but it goes along the ground and the waiting fielder snaffles it up.

Just a single from the over.

Sam Rosser: Are people going to focus on Ed Smith, who’s been in the job two weeks, or the coach who’s been presiding over this shambles for a few years now?

Tom Potter: Refunds from the players match fee, for those that bought tickets for the fourth day?

Jos Buttler eyes up a big, crunching cut shot, but misses the ball and Sarfraz, up to the stumps once again, collects it.

I don't see how it can have been complacency from England, they've lost the art of learning how to play, never mind win.

    More runs!

Dom Bess gets himself off the mark in slightly unconvincing fashion. He shapes to leave and ends up getting a healthy bottom edge that runs away towards third man.

John Bobby in Portishead: As coach of Clifton College First XI I've seen Dom Bess through the years! Was never one to shy away from a challenge, with ball or bat, and always made me laugh, with his little idiosyncrasies and witty banter! Miss playing against him if I'm going to be honest, school cricket isn't what it used to be!

Hello, and that'll be boundary number three from Jos Buttler.

This time, he times the absolute pants off a drive that pings through mid-wicket and into the ropes.

Shot! A roll of the wrists and that'll be four for Jos Buttler, disdainfully walloping a short Hasan Ali delivery away to the boundary.

And again! This time Buttler opens up the face of the bat and not even a despairing dive can stop the ball rolling up the hill and into the rope.

You can't beat around the bush, it's been shambolic. Nothing in terms of patience, technically inept with the ball, catching awful, tactically lacking and then in the second innings, Pakistan have produced a bit of magic and England have not been able to deal with it.

From the Pavilion End, it'll be Hasan Ali.

Jos Buttler pulls a delivery away from in front of his face and down to backward square to get England going after tea.

Dom Bess unfurls a lovely straight drive which Mohammad Abbas cuts off with his foot, before staring down the youngster.

Jos Buttler and Dom Bess make their way out to the middle, trudging behind a Pakistan side who have an extra spring in their step.

Mohammad Abbas, who has 2-8, will resume from the Nursery End.

I feel as though I'm stuck in some sort of time loop where I'm destined to watch England play the same match over and over.

A bit like Groundhog Day: The Cricket Edition. Anyway, the players are ready to come back out.

    Pakistan have been sublime...

And England have just been a bit naff at the most crucial times.

As bad as England have been, that spell from Mohammad Amir where he dismissed Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow in the space of three balls, was magnificently exciting.

This is the forecast for tomorrow, by the way...

    .

England are probably going to be bowled out before the rain has a chance to turn up and save them.
