  1. Aus 220-7published at 33.2 overs

This is gutsy stuff from Ashton Agar, clipping forcefully through mid-wicket to the fence.

Next up he cuts through backward point but misses out on back-to-back boundaries as Jason Roy executes a tremendous diving stop to his right.

Everyone knew at the outset that this was going to be a high-scoring match. It was a beautiful wicket. Perhaps Tim Paine was preoccupied with the knowledge that England like chasing.

  3. Aus 215-7published at 33 overs

    Target 482

Adil Rashid continues to be the pick of the bowlers in this match.

The wily leg-spinner rips through another over, conceding just four from it.

Australia can't afford too many of these if they're going to have a chance of...oh, right, yeah, sorry. It's all a bit sedate out there now.

  5. Aus 211-7published at 32 overs

Mark Wood keeps it tight, with Jhye Richardson and Ashton Agar tap around a few singles, putting a price on their wickets.

Ooh that's a risky single though - in fact Richardson lost his bat and would've been out with a direct hit. The ball zips by the stumps though.

Nathan Lyon - not used by Australia in this series so far - looks a bit tired and fed up on the sidelines.

If I was Justin Langer, I'd be making sure that the Australian batting unit improves their game against spin.

  7. Aus 208-7published at 31 overs

Shot! Ashton Agar has a few of them in his locker, this time sweeping hard over mid-wicket to the fence.

Adil Rashid responds with a couple of dot balls before two singles to close the over.

I felt sorry for Jhye Richardson in the England innings. I watched a particular delivery he bowled to the right-hander and the seam was perfect for the outswinger but it went down gun barrel straight. He's clearly worked hard to perfect that skill and he doesn't get anything for it.

  9. Aus 200-7published at 30 overs

    Target 482

Mark Wood is back on for a burst.

Jhye Richardson taps into off and calls for a quick single, Eoin Morgan scampers round but his throw misses the stumps - Ashton Agar would've been in anyway.

Agar clips away for one to bring up the 200 for Australia. They need another 77 runs to avoid their heaviest ever ODI defeat.

  10. Aus 197-7published at 29 overs

    Need 285 runs

Adil Rashid has too much wile and guile for Ashton Agar and Jhye Richardson, conceding just two runs off the over to the two new batsmen.

England, on the whole, are bowling well on a very flat wicket. If you bowl straight, you can defend one side of the wicket. Australia's bowlers bowled both sides of the wicket and that makes it impossible to defend.

  12. Aus 195-7published at 28 overs

    Target 482

To be on par with England on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method at this point, Australia would have to be on 395-7.

Instead, they are 200 [TWO HUNDRED] runs behind that.

He's not timed that. It's so much harder when you're chasing the game, but England hit those over the rope.

That shot was like something you see at Wimbledon, a forehand cross-court smash.

Helping his side avoid that unwanted record is the last thing Glenn Maxwell does.

The Big Show tries to heave it down the ground, cross-batted, getting it more high than long.

Liam Plunkett runs round and uses all his height to snaffle a superb catch.

  16. Aus 194-6published at 27.1 overs

Glenn Maxwell deftly guides David Willey through the slips for four.

Australia nominally need another 288 runs to win, meaning they avoid the heaviest defeat in ODI history, which was suffered by Ireland against New Zealand in 2008.

Tim Paine is a nice bloke, but he's had stinker today. He put England in and they scored 481, now he's dragged a long hop down deep square leg's throat.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 27 overs

    Paine c Hales b Rashid 5 (Aus 190-6)

Even England's long hops are getting wickets!

Adil Rashid drags it down - a real stinker of a delivery that deserves to end up in the stands.

But Tim Paine can't get enough of it and ends up picking out Alex Hales at deep square leg, taking a solid catch to his right.

A woeful day for the Australia skipper.
