The hosts need 10 wickets. India need 194 runs.

This could be a long session, with the delay for bad light earlier, while play could be extended if a result seems likely.

    Cheers, Matt.

Here's the reason India will be batting after tea - Sam Curran finally falling for a fantastic 63.

Would you open the bowling with him? Or will England stick with Stuart Broad, who has been ill during this Test?

Ishant Sharma has been excellent today. Phil Tufnell compared him to Freddie Flintoff earlier - big praise indeed.

The wicket of Stuart Broad have gave him five in the innings, his eighth Test five-for.

India will have to make history to win this Test match and will need some real magic. We saw it from Virat Kohli in the first innings, but can anybody else do it here?

We're set up for a brilliant final session.

    India need 194 to win

That wicket also means tea. We'll have a 20-minute break and then Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad will be roared on by the Birmingham crowd under cloudy skies.

    Early wickets are a must.

Virat Kohli applauded a visibly gutted Sam Curran as he left the field. That's one almighty compliment.

That 63 stands out like a beacon on a foggy day.

Curran c Karthik b Umesh 63 (Eng 180 all out)

Sam Curran tries to guide a single to third man but gets a thin snick to the 'keeper. He looks to the skies in disappointment but that's a fine knock. Who knows? It could win England the game. Without it they had no chance but with it England have a sniff.

India will need 194 to win.

Not the cleanest hit but four more! Curran pulls over mid on. Two balls left in the over. The field comes up, Can Curran find a single?

"Ooooo Jimmy, Jimmy," is bellowed from the stands. Anderson joins Sam Curran. Can he stick around?

Stuart Broad has hung around well enough to help Sam Curran but that was a beautiful ball.

    Broad c Dhawan b Ishant 11 (Eng 176-9)

Stuart Broad can't help himself. Full and swinging from Ishant Sharma and edges a drive to first slip. That's still a decent enough knock from Broad. He put on 41 with Curran.

it's also five for Ishant and a big celebration from the Indian quick, punching the air with both fists. He's been brill.
