Stuart Broad is the new man. I think we know how he will play. He gets off the mark but the single means he'll be on strike to Ravi Ashwin in the next over.

It's left-handers all the way now for England. Ashwin will be sensing five wickets.

Exceptional bowling from Umesh Yadav. He set up Adil Rashid with several away swingers then got that one to wobble, so Rashid thinks it's moving away but it goes on and bowls him between bat and pad.

James Anderson would be proud of that delivery.

    Rashid b Umesh 16 (Eng 135-8)

Adil Rashid has been well and truly cleaned up by Umesh Yadav. The quick tempts him outside off stump at the start of the over and then arrows one back at the stumps which sneaks through the defence, sending timber flying everywhere.

England are eight down and still need a fair few more.

Bad news. The inflatable watermelon that has been bouncing its way around the stands has been confiscated. The cricket-going public used to turn up with a scorecard and a clipboard to a Test but these days some sort of inflatable is a prerequisite.

Watchful from Sam Curran to Ravi Ashwin. He steals a single on the final ball of the over.

I've got a multi-million pound idea - the International Cricket Slip Catching Academy.

I'd employ Marcus Trescothick, Carl Hooper, Mark Waugh and Matthew Hayden and charge all international sides a hefty fee to learn how to catch in the slips.

  7. Eng 133-7published at 43 overs

    Curran 31, Rashid 16

Shikhar Dhawan has taken off his sunglasses and cap to field at slip so it must still be a bit gloomy. Umesh Yadav hasn't been at his best in this match. He struggled in the first innings and is just bowling his second over in this innings.

Rashid sensibly lets the ball go by before knocking a single off his hip.

I still think there is another twist to come in this match.

Virat Kohli has held a long huddle with his team - you don't do that if you think the game is won.

  9. Eng 131-7published at 42 overs

Adil Rashid scratches at the crease to mark his guard. He and Sam Curran have put on 44 for the eighth wicket. They need to refocus now after that interruption.

There is too much talent in this England team for them to continuously perform like they have today. It happens too often.

I don't understand why they don't play like that anyway. Any club cricketer plays like that.

The mindset of the England team is to be aggressive. The one-day team changed the way they play after the 2015 World Cup. I really to think the Test match team has to look at itself - the batting unit has do the reverse of what the white-ball team did.
