James Anderson will get at least one more over then.

A huge roar around The Oval as they gee up the England great.

He needs one more wicket to surpass Glenn McGrath...

  4. Ind 345-9published at 94 overs

Ooh. Jasprit Bumrah just about judges a leave correctly as the ball misses off stump.

The last is wide and Bumrah leaves.

It's a beautiful delivery. Late shape and a good catch by Bairstow. It was a prod by Jadeja. It almost nipped, got to him quicker than he thought. I'd love Sam Curran to finish the series, by I want another over of Jimmy Anderson.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 93.4 overs

    Jadeja c Bairstow b Curran 13 (Ind 345-9)

    Wonderful bowling by Sam Curran.

He pitches it up slightly, just outside off, drawing Ravindra Jadeja forward and the ball flicks the outside edge as it moves away late.

Jonny Bairstow tumbles to his left and snaffles a good catch.

Relief and joy for England as they dismiss the obstinate Jadeja. Two tailenders left at the crease.

Sam Curran strikes. Do England have time to pick up these last two wickets?

Just keep Anderson bowling. Don't take him off.

    Ind 341-8published at 93 overs

England need two wickets to win

Oosh. Ravindra Jadeja inside edges James Anderson just past the stumps for four.

He whips the last away for a single to keep the strike.

    That'll be drinks.

England have 15 overs to do this in.

    James Anderson continues.

There are 16 overs remaining in the day.

It's getting a bit dark though...

Jack: Sam Curran - new ball bowler, pitches it up and gives it chance to swing, this should be the future.

The second new ball usually gets you one or two. James Anderson won't need many balls at someone like Shami.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 92 overs

    Ishant c Bairstow b Curran 5 (Ind 336-8)

Ultra edge confirms that Ishant Sharma did indeed feather that one through to Jonny Bairstow.

It's canny bowling by Sam Curran, setting up Ishant with a big inswinging yorker that the tailender just kept out the ball before and then sending this one down with a scrambled seam, the ball holding up on the angle and taking the edge.

Ishant reviewed that rather out of desperation, England and umpire Kumar Dharmasena were rightly certain that was out.

England are just two wickets away...

  16. India reviewpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 11 September 2018

Sam Curran gets one to just hold up and flick the outside edge of Ishant Sharma's bat on the way through to Jonny Bairstow.

England go up in appeal and given!

Ishant reviews but I think this was definitely out.

  17. Postpublished at 17:09 British Summer Time 11 September 2018

Mr Norcross is correct. Stuart Broad will not take the new ball - he's got a broken rib and was down on pace earlier. Indeed he's been off the field for a while now.

    Here is Sam Curran.

    Minimum 17 overs remaining

James Anderson swings it into Ravindra Jadeja's pads and there is a brief shout but that was heading miles down and deflects away for a leg-bye.

Ishant Sharma survives the rest of the over. Just. He very, very edges the last - a peach from Anderson. A better bat would've probably nicked off.

I think Sam Curran is warming up. I wonder if Broad is not up to taking the new ball.
