  1. Eng 19-0published at 3 overs

Tammy Beaumont is small and compact at the crease - collars upturned and hair tied up. She packs a real punch though... emphasised when she cracks a boundary through the off side.

  2. Eng 11-0published at 2 overs

    Jones 6, Beaumont 5

Amy Jones looks a cheerful sort - she's beaming after flicking two off the hips. Sophie Devine, by the way, is sharing new-ball duties for New Zealand.

Anyway, make sure you get in touch today. A live text commentator is only as good as his witty readers. We can talk about anything (within reason, of course!).

Essentially, what I'm saying is don't be a stranger. Or hide behind your screen.

I think we’ll only see fours today. A six square of the wicket will be an absolute monster hit.

  4. Eng 7-0published at 1 over

    England won toss

England - and Amy Jones - off the mark with three through the off side. The TMS commentators suggested they might have ran four, such is the size of the boundaries today.

Tammy Beaumont does indeed go one better with a cover drive for four. England up and running.

If Amy Jones was in any other international team, she would be the wicketkeeper. They’ve been wanting to give Kate Cross an opportunity, she’s bowled well this summer and it’s a good chance for her.

Amy Jones is scratching her guard. Holly Huddleston has the new ball in hand. Let's play.

This is a big surface, and these are big boundaries, but it’s a rapid outfield and I imagine there will be a lot of boundaries today.

Anyway, back to Leicester where England are about to begin their innings against New Zealand. It's their last match of the summer - that doesn't feel right. It's only the beginning of July!

In the first Test between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Galle, the hosts are on top - leading by 272 with six second-innings wickets in hand.

The Proteas were bundled out for 126 on the second day, and Sri Lanka were 111-4 at the close after posting 287 in their first knock.

Why do I suspect it's turning round corners?

It's fair to say Zimbabwe are struggling in their one-day international against Pakistan.

After the tourists posted 308-7 in Bulawayo, the hosts have been reduced to 56-5.

Imam ul-Haq has been Pakistan's standout man - hitting 128 at the top of the order.

Test Match Special will be on air shortly, and among the team will be England's new independent selector James Taylor. What a fantastic piece of news - Taylor is clearly a man who knows his onions and he'll no doubt prove to be a great appointment. The full details on that appointment are here.

England captain Heather Knight speaking to Sky Sports: "It can be mentally tough when it’s the end of the season, but we want to put a marker down with the T20 World Cup coming up and there are ICC Women's Championship points at stake. We want to finish off what’s been a brilliant summer."

Indeed, Heather Knight's team are 2-0 up against New Zealand in the three-game series. They've got the series in the bag. But can they complete a whitewash?
