So we are going to have new winners of the Super League trophy.

But will it be Loughborough Lightning or will it be Surrey Stars?

The Lightning won by nine wickets after bowling Surrey out for just 95 when the two teams met for the first time this summer.

The return group match a week later had a very different outcome as Surrey reached 106-3 in the 12th over to win by seven wickets.

We're going to take a short break now and then Adam Williams will be here to give you information on the teams and toss and take you through the first innings of the final.

Surrey Stars captain Natalie Sciver told BBC Radio 5 live sports extra:

That was good, that was brilliant.

I thought they were going to get it when Fran Wilson and Heather Knight were in but we managed to drag it back and people stood up when they needed to.

  10. 'What a fantastic game'published at 14:51 British Summer Time 27 August 2018

    Alex Hartley
England spin bowler on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

What a fantastic game, it ebbed and flowed.

That is what cricket is all about, a great semi-final, well batted Fran Wilson it was just a shame that no one stayed with her.

I'm so happy Surrey have won.

  11. SURREY STARS WON BY NINE RUNSpublished at 20 overs
    Breaking

    Surrey Stars 162-5 v Western Storm 153-6

So Western Storm's reign as Super League champions comes to an end and it is Surrey Stars who will face Loughborough Lightning in the final.

Needing 14 from the last five deliveries, the Storm can only muster three singles and a leg bye as Fran Wilson finishes with 58 not out from 45 balls. One suspects it will be little consolation for her.

Surrey skipper Nat Sciver takes 2-21 to go with her unbeaten 72 during her side's innings. A true captain's performance.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.1 overs

    Dattani b Sciver 4 (Western Storm 144-6)

Naomi Dattani does everything wrong - she doesn't get Fran Wilson on strike, and she gets out as Nat Sciver claims her second victim at the start of the final over.

  13. Western Storm 149-5 - target 163published at 19 overs

    Wilson 57, Dattani 4

Fran Wilson can only manage one run at the start of Laura Marsh's final over, putting the onus of Naomi Dattani. She swipes at a wide one and then tries a slog sweep but makes contact with neither.

Finally she is off strike, but Wilson can only add one to Nat Sciver;s strong arm in the deep.

They need a boundary from the final ball - but it's just one run and Wilson will not be on strike at the start of the last, with 14 needed.

Has that over put the target out of Western Storm's reach?

  14. Western Storm 144-5 - target 163published at 18 overs

    Wilson 55, Dattani 2

A single for Naomi Dattani and Fran Wilson switch-hits a la Kevin Pietersen for her ninth boundary. Inventive batting by the right-hander, but can she finish the job for her side?

Wilson then misses an orthodox sweep, Sarah Taylor makes her third stumping appeal of the innings, and for the third time it is not out.

A single down the ground robs Wilson of the strike and Naomi Dattani can make nothing of Sophia Dunkley's final delivery - 19 required off two overs.

Spinner Dane van Niekerk is guilty of overstepping so it's a free ball for Western Storm. New batter Naomi Dattani can only pick up one.

But it brings Fran Wilson onto strike and she reaches her first fifty of the tournament off 37 balls by putting away a full toss through square leg.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.3 overs

Luff c Kapp b van Niekerk 3 (Western Storm 131-5)

Dane van Niekerk toss one up and Sophie Luff slogs it out towards mid-wicket where Marizanne Kapp stoops to pick up a good catch. All on Fran Wilson now for Western Storm?

  17. Western Storm 129-4 - target 163published at 16 overs

    Wilson 44, Luff 2

Marizanne Kapp is back into the attack and Sophie Luff adds one with a mistimed pull shot.

Fran Wilson is down the track to the next one and collects a single-bounce four to mid-wicket.

Wilson then attempts a ramp but misses, and is very fortunate as the ball just misses the stumps and runs away through the legs of Sarah Taylor for four byes.

So, four overs left, just 24 balls - and 34 are needed by Western Storm.

  18. Western Storm 118-4 - target 163published at 15 overs

    Wilson, 38, Luff 1

Final ball of Sophia Dunkley's over and Sophie Luff tickles a single to square leg for her first run - 45 needed off 30 balls now.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.5 overs

    Knight b Dunkley (34 (Western Storm 117-4)

Heather Knight has to take evasive action as Fran Wilson clobbers the ball straight down the ground, but the boundary rider restricts the Western Storm batter to one.

Sophia Dunkley then strikes a crucial blow as Knight misses an attempted sweep and is bowled.

  20. Somerset make 209-5 at Tauntonpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 27 August 2018
