    • Sussex have lost their first wicket of the day against Leicestershire as Philip Salt is caught off the bowling of Ben Mike. He went for 44, just shy of his half-century, but partner Tom Haines is 32 not out. Sussex are 85-1.
    • Kent are, um, collapsing: they are 68-4 against Northants, Joe Denly the latest to be dismissed.
    • Gloucestershire have picked up the pace against Middlesex: they are 48-0, Miles Hammond Chris Dent the partnership closing in on a half-century.
    • Derbyshire are, like Kent, looking a little nervy: they are 67-3 against Glamorgan.

    England have just announced their squad for Friday's fifth and final Test match against India at The Oval.

    Surrey's Ollie Pope returns after missing out at the Ageas Bowl, as does Chris Woakes.

    Pope will play in the first two days of the match at Essex before joining up with England.

    Nottinghamshire’s new opening pair of Kraigg Brathwaite and Ben Slater have made a promising start on their home debuts in the match against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.

    The pair have timed their acceleration perfectly.

    Batting looked difficult under the floodlights and Slater was dropped on six off Jack Brooks.

    37 runs have come in the last three overs though as the hosts look to post a formidable score after being asked to bat first.

    • Sussex continue their impressive start at home to Leicestershire and are now 71-0 from 17 overs. There's a way to go yet, but at this pace, would you bet against Philip Salt and Tom Haines posting a century partnership?
    • Goucestershire are inching onwards too: they're 23-0 from 16.2 overs against Middlesex.
    • Michael Hogan is in fine form this morning for Glamorgan, having just taken his second wicket of the morning and disposed of Derbyshire's Wayne Masden caught by Tom Cullen. Derbyshire are 58-3.
