    Worcestershire 104-4 - target 158

The asking rate is now heading up towards nine and over for Worcestershire.

This over from Will Beer will end the spin contribution for Sussex unless skipper Luke Wright has something very surprising in store.

Ross Whiteley powers a leg-side boundary to move the total into three figures, but Beer has done a decent job for his side - 2-32.

The Rapids need 54 from six overs.

    Worcestershire 96-4 - target 158

Ben Cox is a fine exponent of the reverse sweep and utilises it again to collect a boundary at the start of a new Danny Briggs over. Not much damage, that apart, as Briggs ends his stint with figures of 2-19.

Ross Whiteley in. A single ends the over - 68 needed from 49 balls.

  4. wicket

WICKET Moeen (c Salt b Beer) 41published at 11.5 overs

    Worcestershire 90-4 - target 158

Ben Cox is 'done' in the flight by Will beer, but manages to get it away for a single.

The spinner the strays onto Moeen Ali's pads and is flipped away fine for four, but there's the end of the Rapids skipper as he goes aerial to long off where Phil Salt pulls in an excellent catch.

  5. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 15 September 2018

Worcestershire skipper Moeen Ali has played some superb strokes in his innings so far - and none better than this maximum.

  6. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Worcestershire 83-3 - target 158

Ben Cox was the batting star of Worcestershire's semi-final win over Lancashire Lightning with an unbeaten 55. He joins Moeen and a single each is all Worcestershire collect from Danny Briggs' third over.

  7. wicket

WICKET D'Oliveira (st Burgess b Briggs) 10published at 10.1 overs

    Worcestershire 80-3 - target 158

Smart work by Michael Burgess as Brett D'Oliveira overstretches forward and his fate is in the hands of TV umpire David Millns. If this was a Roman ampitheatre, Millns' thumb would just have been turned down.

  8. Postpublished at 10 overs

    Worcestershire 80-2 - target 158

Will Beer is fractionally short and Brett D'Oliveira adjusts his feet quickly and pulls into the gap at square leg for four. An even better stroke follows from Moeen Ali, who come down the track and drives over cover for another boundary. Worcestershire are two runs ahead at this point - Sussex were 78-2 after 10.

  9. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Worcestershire 69-2 - target 158

Very tidy by Danny Briggs, three singles is all Worcestershire can conjure up. Suddenly the Sussex spinners have imposed a bit of a stranglehold on the scoring rate - 89 needed from 11 overs.

  10. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Worcestershire 66-2 - target 158

Moeen Ali looks like calmness personified - and he is the key man in this final. If Sussex can remove him, the nerves may start to jangle. Good over by Will Beer - only four runs and a wicket.

  11. wicket

WICKET Fell (c Wright b Beer) 1published at 7.2 overs

A Worcestershire wobble? Will Beer's second ball is driven straight to cover by an obliging Tom Fell. Brett D'Oliveira is in at four.

  12. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Worcestershire 62-1 - target 158

Tom Fell is the new batsman. He's off the mark straight away with an easy single.

  13. wicket

WICKET Clarke (c Burgess b Briggs) 33published at 6.5 overs

    Worcestershire 61-1 - target 158

Now it's time for spin as Luke Wright turns to Danny Briggs. His second delivery is pulled down short and Moeen Ali stands up straight and belts it away over mid-wicket for six.

Sussex have their first breakthrough, though, as Joe Clarke tries to force away a quicker delivery and a thin edge is taken by Michael Burgess behind the stumps.

  14. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Worcestershire 53-0 - target 158

David Wiese is the next Sussex bowler to try his luck.

The first four deliveries are ok, but he then strays onto leg and Joe Clarke whips it away for four to bring up Worcestershire's 50.

The Rapids camp must be very happy with how things are going at the moment.

Same tactic by Sussex as in their semi-final as Chris Jordan takes over from Jofra Archer.

They need a wicket to give Worcestershire something to think about, but Moeen Ali lofts away to long-on for a two-bounce four and moves into double figures.

Jordan attempts a slower ball but Moeen uses his feet superbly and drives it over extra cover for the second boundary in the over, before pulling away for another.

Looks like he fancies taking the trophy back to New Road.

Back to back boundaries for Worcestershire Rapids as Joe Clarke follows Moeen Ali's lead at the end of the previous over by putting Tymal Mills away through mid-wicket.

Mills attempts a slower delivery two balls later and Clarke deflects it fine past the keeper for another four with excellent timing.

Clarke is fortunate from the final delivery as an under-edge just misses his stumps - a productive over for the Rapids.

It's gone rather quiet inside Edgbaston at the start of the Worcestershire innings.

That could be down to a number of factors.

There's a lot less people here now. Probably only about two-thirds full.

And there weren't many Worcestershire fans here in the first place, due to the ticket farce.

But could it also be a growing sense of wonderment that the patched-up, injury-weakened team with only one overseas player and captained by the only Brummie playing here on Finals Day might actually do this?

Jofra Archer has some serious bling round his neck and it spills out onto the front of his shirt as he strains for extra pace. Would you fancy facing 90mph bowling under lights?

Danny Briggs makes another good save at backward point as Joe Clarke cuts and a meaty pull from the next delivery is kept to one by Laurie Evans in the deep.

Moeen Ali decides to lift the tempo and clubs a short of a length delivery over mid-on for four to end the over.

  19. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Worcestershire 15-0 - target 158

A misfield at point gifts Joe Clarke two runs - Sussex can't afford any freebies - and he flips the next one away to fine leg for four as Tymal Mills strays off line.

Danny Briggs atones for his earlier lapse with a brilliant one-handed stop to deny Clarke a boundary, and Mills then goes past the edge as Moeen Ali attempts an airy drive.

Moeen nudges a single from a slower delivery and Clarke tucks Mills away to square leg for another to end the over.

    Worcestershire 5-0 - target 158

Joe Clarke is under way with a single, bringing Moeen Ali onto strike. If Sussex can pick up his wicket early, that may sow a seed of doubt or two in the Worcestershire dressing room.

Plenty of pace from Jofra Archer, but an inside edge onto his thigh brings Moeen his first run.

Tidy over, Worcestershire understandably taking a look before trying anything ambitious.
