    Worcestershire 340, Yorkshire 30-1

After plundering five fours off Wayne Parnell, Adam Lyth gets his comeuppance.

He tries to turn Parnell on the leg side and is given out lbw.

The new man in is Jack Leaning.

  2. 50 runs

Well batted Jamie Overton, who launches Samit Patel down the ground for his 10th four to bring up a 47-ball half-century.

It's the fourth of his career and he will now be looking to improve on his career-best 56 against Warwickshire in 2014.

  3. wicket

WICKET Bopara b Virdi 8published at 11:23 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Surrey 67 v Essex 237-4

Surrey make their second breakthrough of the morning as off-spinner Amar Virdi bowls Ravi Bopara behind his legs as he tries to sweep. Tom Westley is still there, though, for Essex on 177 not out.

200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Kent 167 v Warwickshire 201-1

    Clive Eakin
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Sport

Having finally made the breakthrough by ending Will Rhodes' excellent innings of 110, Kent are trying to find a way back into the Division Two title decider.

Now the home side have got to 200, Kent will have to win if they're to pip their opponents to the title.

By their own admission they batted poorly first time round, although Warwickshire's bowlers deserve due credit. In their second innings, Kent will have to at least match whatever Warwickshire get in their first innings to have any realistic chance.

  5. Jones finds the boundarypublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Hampshire 187 v Lancashire 167-5

    Rob JonesImage source, Rex Features

Lancashire appear to have recovered from the shock of losing Liam Livingstone at the start of play, with Dane Vilas and Rob Jones putting together a decent partnership.

Jones hit two fours in Fidel Edwards' latest over, both pull shots from short balls - one bowled from over the wicket and from round the wicket.

He has 28 and Vilas is 19 not out. Interestingly Hampshire posted a 'backstop' fielder for that over, fielding almost directly behind wicketkeeper Lewis McManus. You don't see that very often.

  7. Notts denied full bowling pointspublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Somerset 429-8 v Nottinghamshire

Good news for Lancashire. Jamie Overton hits two fours off Harry Gurney in the 110th over and Notts have to settle for only two of the three bowling points.

They therefore need three with the bat to make certain of staying in Division One. Overton has 36 off 35 balls so far.

  8. wicket

WICKET Rhodes b Stewart 110published at 11:08 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Kent 167, Warwickshire 176-1

Will Rhodes is out for 110, as he finally makes an error, leaving a ball from Grant Stewart which jags back and knocks out his off stump.

Rhodes goes frustratingly just 28 runs of his 1,000 Championship runs for the summer. And the way this game has so far gone, he may not get another chance to bat.

Ian Bell, the only Division Two batsman who has made his 1,000 this season, comes out to join Dom Sibley, who is still there and going nicely this morning, having reached his 50.

  9. Tykes in to bat at New Roadpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Worcestershire 340, Yorkshire 1-0

Yorkshire openers Adam Lyth and Jeet Raval are off and running at Worcester with four runs off Wayne Parnell's first over.

  10. Postpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

  11. 50 runs

50 for Dom Sibleypublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Kent 167, Warwickshire 172-0

Dom Sibley's fifth 50 of the season steers Warwickshire into the lead against Kent.

An even more impressive effort in this Division Two title decider to go past Kent's total without losing a wicket.

Sibley has so far played only a supporting role in this knock to the more prolific Rhodes, who is on 109, more than double his score.

But this is their fourth century stand of the summer - and their best yet, surpassing the 161 they shared against Gloucestershire last month, also at Edgbaston.

  12. Division Two updatepublished at 11:02 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

Brett Hutton is already among the wickets for Northants, removing Phil Salt and Laurie Evans to reduce Sussex to 11-2 in their second innings - still 42 in arrears.

Timm van der Gugten has finally gone for 50, made from 67 balls, at Cardiff where Glamorgan are 348-9 against Leicestershire.

Gareth Harte has moved on to 84 not out for Durham, who are 251-6 - and 130 runs ahead - against Middlesex at the Riverside.

No joy yet for Derbyshire's bowlers with Gloucestershire progressing to 121-5 in the opening overs of day two, still 67 behind.

  13. wicket

WICKET Pennington c Tattersall b Brooks 7published at 10:54 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

Worcestershire 340 all out v Yorkshire

Dillon Pennington is last man out for Worcestershire, caught behind off Jack Brooks - just 10 runs short of a fourth batting point.

    It's a sixth wicket for Somerset-bound Brooks.

As his coach Andrew Gale said at the close of play yesterday, once Brooks' impending exit was announced "it would have been easy for him to fade out until the end of the season. But he hasn't done that. He's put a real shift in for us and is one of the key reasons why we are still in Division One."

  14. wicket

    WICKET C Overton (c Wood b Gurney) 23published at 10:52 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Somerset 403-8 v Nottinghamshire

Harry Gurney has his sixth wicket as Craig Overton clips a low catch to Luke Wood at mid-wicket.

Somerset's fifth batting point arrives in the next over, though, as new batsman Josh Davey helps himself to two fours off Samit Patel's left-arm spin.

  15. Pears last pair press onpublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Worcestershire 338-9 v Yorkshire

Still Yorkshire can't finish off this Worcestershire innings.

Josh Tongue has now moved on to 29, in partnership with Dillon Pennington.

  16. 100 runs

for Tom Westleypublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Surrey 67 v Essex 213-3

    Tom WestleyImage source, Rex Features

Tom Westley reaches his second hundred of the season - and 20th of his career - in impressive style with back-to-back boundaries off Morne Morkel, the second flicked away off his pads down to fine leg. It's taken the England right-hander 213 balls and his side are 146 in front.

  17. wicket

WICKET Lawrence lbw Clarke 17published at 10:48 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Surrey 67 v Essex 205-3

Early success for Surrey as Rikki Clarke removes Dan Lawrence in the fourth over of play. Ravi Bopara is the new batsman.

  18. Somerset hurry towards 400published at 10:48 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Somerset 393-7 v Nottinghamshire

Somerset are clearly in a hurry this morning, with Craig and Jamie Overton adding 40 from the first five overs. They each find the boundary in Matt Carter's latest over and it looks like the visitors will claim the fifth batting point with time to spare.

If they do, they will only require one bowling point to make certain of finishing second in the table.

  19. Surrey pair keep it tightpublished at 10:45 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Surrey 67 v Essex 201-2

As was to be expected, Surrey have come out in determined mood this morning and Morne Morkel and Rikki Clarke have given Essex batsmen Tom Westley and Dan Lawrence nothing so far.

Lawrence, though takes the single to bring up Essex's 200 and secure their first batting point.

  20. 150 runs

150 up for the Bearspublished at 10:42 British Summer Time 25 September 2018

    Kent 167, Warwickshire 156-0

Warwickshire's openers Will Rhodes and Dom Sibley do not take long to post their 150 partnership at Edgbaston.

They have almost overhauled the Kent total and are now well on course for their first batting bonus point - and probably more.
