Was that because Tom Curran dropped a sitter off Moeen Ali?

    Big finish!

Sri Lanka strut off. England's shoulders slump.

Dhananjaya de Silva ends the innings by pounding Tom Curran into the stands.

  3. dropped catch

Akila dropped on 17published at 49.5 overs

A sitter. Akila Dananjaya chips one to Moeen Ali but the England spinner spills it. It would have been a dot ball but instead another run is conceded by England and, more importantly, there won't be a new batsman on strike for the final ball.

  4. 6 runs

    SL 359-6published at 49.4 overs

Shot! Lasith Malinga loves this. He cheers Alika on as he bashes a big six. Curran thought the fielder on the boundary was in the game but it just had enough on it.

This would have to be England's highest successful run chase in ODI history.

The current mark is 350-3 against New Zealand in 2015.

  6. SL 353-6published at 49.3 overs

Another single. Curran is finishing this off well.

He wipes his hands on a towel.

  7. SL 352-6published at 49.2 overs

Dhananjaya de Silva tries to ramp Curran and gets it all wrong. There's no pace on the ball and the Sri Lankan misses it.

This is the 10th time England have conceded 350 or more in ODIs.

They have won one of those games - against West Indies at The Oval in 2017 and it was a reduced chase on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

  9. SL 352-6published at 49.1 overs

Slower ball from Tom Curran. Just a single.

  10. SL 351-6published at 49 overs

The 350 up. One over left. Mark Wood looks knackered and gets a hug from Ben Stokes. Those two good mates have made up after Stokes' outburst earlier.

Tom Curran will bowl the final over.

I'm not happy with Mark Wood's new run up.

I want a run up to be either very short or very long.

  12. SL 348-6published at 48.3 overs

A much needed boundary for Sri Lanka. Wood opts for pace on the ball and Akila pierces the infield.

The band starts to play again.

Wood still continues and will bowl the penultimate over. He's actually been England's second-most economical bowler today.

This is only the third time in ODI history that seven England bowlers have bowled at least five overs each.

  16. SL 342-6published at 48 overs

Good comeback from Tommy C. No boundaries conceded after that first-ball four. 380 looked on for Sri Lanka earlier. Not anymore.

This is Sri Lanka's highest ever score against England in ODI cricket.

Tom Curran has just given his brother Sam the Graeme Swann tango look for that misfield.

  19. SL 338-6published at 47.1 overs

Tom Curran looks up for the fight. His eyes are wide at the top of his mark as he waits to run in again.

Oooooof. No brotherly love there. Dhananjaya gets one past Sam Curran at short third man.

Tom tells his brother what he thought of that effort. It costs England four.

  20. SL 334-6published at 47 overs

Mark Wood can be happy with that over. Only singles come from it. Sri Lanka don't want to let this innings fizzle out after losing those two wickets to Tom Curran an over ago.
