How many times has Sam Curran brought up his 50 with a 6?

    Matt

It's Sam Curran's world, and we're just living in it.

This time, Curran lets James Anderson see off the final ball of the over, and Jimmy plays an extravagant sweep before wisely deciding not to run.

This is a fantastic innings from Curran but I've got to be honest, Sri Lanka's tactics to him have been awful.

    Curran 52, Anderson 6

Sri Lanka once again let Sam Curran work an easy single from the final ball of the over.

I've been reduced to shouting at the TV, this has annoyed me so much. Why would you not try and stop him scoring?!

    Sam Curran is absolutely brilliant.

Another poor delivery from Akila Dananjaya, dragged down this time, and Curran leans back and marmalises the delivery over the ropes for yet another six. That'll be his half-century, from 92 deliveries, and it has been a cracking innings.

Sri Lanka's tactics, first to Jos Buttler and now to Sam Curran, have absolutely let England off the hook.

That'll be four more but in the shape of byes, as Sam Curran has a huge swing, misses and the ball beats Niroshan Dickwella up at the stumps.

A disgruntled Dilruwan Perera whizzes through the rest of the over, but Curran will keep the strike.

I see Sam Curran as a genuine all-rounder.

I've worked with him at Surrey and I think he is just as good with bat and ball.

England are getting beyond par because of their tail here.

Another easy single from Sam Curran from the final ball of the over, and he can keep the strike yet again.

Sri Lanka have let this slip. This England innings should be done by now.

Dross from Akila Dananjaya, and it's given the treatment by Sam Curran. Six!

Dananjaya spears the ball wide, trying to stop Curran from scoring, and the England man just throws his arms after the ball and hoicks yet another six into the crowd.

  14. Eng 252-9published at 68.2 overs

James Anderson promptly makes an absolute mess of a reverse sweep but, in the confusion as Niroshan Dickwella scrambles to collect the ball, manages to nab a single.

  15. Eng 251-9published at 68.1 overs

James Anderson sweeps as well as any of the England batsmen.

Akila Dananjaya strays off line, dragging the ball down the leg side, and Anderson gets down on one knee to help the ball on its way to the boundary. That's the 250 up for England.

This is Sam Curran's ninth score of 20 or more in his 11 Test innings.

Only one other England player has got nine 20+ scores from 11 innings batting at number eight or lower, and that was Maurice Tate.

Sri Lanka have finally brought the field up for the final ball of the over...

...and Sam Curran just launches the ball back down the ground for yet another six! That is glorious hitting.

I would make a terrible umpire. This looks out from one angle and not out from the other.

It looks as though Sam Curran has just got his toes down on the ground in time.
